yesterday while i was trying to add cash to my train ticket, a lil girl (about ten years old) had the nerve to ask "can i get twenty dollars?". (shook my head). "i'm hungry, bootchieass n***a" (moderators: if that is not allowed, please delete. however, the words in quotation marks are direct quotes, not my opinion. i am not trying to be racist.)
usually, when i add cash to my train ticket, i do it at a different train station at different times, and nobody has had the nerve to bother me.
briefly, i was afraid that she would've physically snatched the cash or done something like that. thank buddha she didn't.
on the other hand, i do not feel like i "should" have to make that a "learning lesson" in that i should not have added cash to my train ticket, at that station at that time.
besides, even if i were to have given her $20, she could've had the nerve to demand more, and even if i were to have given her all of it, it wouldn't've been enough, and she still could've come up with an excuse to call me a "bootchieass n***a" or anything else. ("logic could be used to justify anything.")
after she had the nerve to bark @ me, she thankfully left me alone.
i could NOT imagine trying to panhandle from someone that is making a purchase in real time. and i CERTAINLY could not imagine doing that when i was about ten years old.
but whatever. i have a theory: maybe everyone is constantly doing their "best", but due to reasons that are not visible to outsiders, there are mitigating factors that cause their "best" to be a lot worse than it appears.
