Denmark PM: "Stop The Threats" Of US Annexing Greenland
Average Danish people hate Trump but they have nothing against American people (who make up a proportion of tourists visiting Denmark on a regular basis).
They also know Americans hate trump as well. Last thing Danish civilians want is to get into war. Danes (like all Scandinavians) are largely civic minded, anti-nuclear, anti-war, pro-environment.
I always thought Sweden was the most progressive of the Nordic nations.

Tim_Tex, you are probably right. Norway is physically very fit and great at outdoor sports like cross-country skiing or surviving in the widlerness but "the nerdy one" of the Nordics. Finland is the silent strong guy, tought as nails but almost always drunk. Sweden is the "know all" progressive city guy and the big brother of the Nordics. Denmark is the soft continental guy of the Nordics, enjoying unhealthy food and drinking to much beer. Still, by American standards the average Dane is a tough guy. Compared to Americans and perhaps to Australians as well, Nordic people in general don't brag and talk a lot, they stay humble and let the action do the talking. The Danes don't want to go to war with the US to defend Greenland, but the will if they have to.

Danes are actually really easy going people. My brother-in-law said Denmark was a paradise during COVID, while other scandis were in lockdown the Danes were enjoying drinking beers in the sunshine, shops/bars all open Danish people allowed freedom while the rest of the world suffered cabin fever. Also more liberal about soft drugs, on par with the Dutch. they have high levels of female participation, LGBTQ+ rights, and a strong, egalitarian, and often, in terms of societal behavior, liberal population.
^Your Danish brother-in-law seems a little confused to be honest.
"Although Denmark and Sweden share many cultural and societal traits, such as
universal healthcare systems with free access, the two countries reacted quite dif-
ferently to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. Denmark followed the majority of the
European countries in introducing strict, mandatory epidemiological control
measures. By contrast, Sweden favoured less strict, voluntary measures that were
introduced days or even weeks later than those in Denmark. The Swedish ap-
proach has been widely debated. It has, for example, been argued that Swedish
health authorities may have initially underreacted, or, conversely, intentionally
sought to achieve herd immunity through natural infection (Claeson and Hanson,
2021); or that they made a different trade-off between preventing deaths from
COVID-19 and other health costs associated with a lockdown."

^^^ Sorry I gave the impression it was free for all in Denmark. Schools and many businesses did close and WFH was implemented where feasible. But the government permitted entertainment venues like bars to operate provided they had outdoor seating (i.e. beer gardens) and families were permitted to drive around and visit any part of the country.
My brother-in-law said the couple of years 2020-2021 allowed him to spend quality time with his kids and grandkids and opportunity for building renovation projects (Danish way, everyone chipped in) so he had did have a positive experience.
Trump says sending 'great hospital boat' to Greenland
"US President Donald Trump said Saturday he was sending a hospital boat to Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory.
He said the boat would treat many "sick" people in the island.
Trump did not provide any additional details about who he was referring to or the number of people the boat would help.
"We are going to send a great hospital boat to Greenland to take care of the many people who are sick, and not being taken care of there," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
"It's on the way!! !," he added."
My added facts and words of wisdom:
Like there are no people in the US in better need of that health care. The Greenlandic population receives the health care it needs. They receive it either in Greenland, or, if they require specialized treatment, they receive it in Denmark.
Access to health care is free in Greenland and in Denmark.

As with that Obamacare replacement, and those DOGE checks, I suspect they'll be waiting for that ship for a very long time.
