Under what circumstances do you give cash to strangers? Under what circumstances do you accept cash from strangers?

Today I picked up a pack of chicken salad at the bus stop. Worth a couple of bucks. Then some dude had the nerve to start screaming at me. I held out the chicken salad to him, because maybe it was his or he wanted it. He waved it off and I started to walk away but the idiot had the nerve to keep screaming at me "come back" so I went back because I thought he wanted the chicken salad so I offered it to the stupid lil tarantula again and he refused and held out cash. "No thank you" I said. "Why not? Cash". He said. I walked away and he kept barking at me to come back and I didn't.

"Pick your battles" is good advice but some spiders pick all the battles. They act like everything is a life or death situation. Annoying lil drama queens

Usually I would accept handouts but there was something "off" about him and I didn't feel comfortable around him

that dude last week had uncomfortable vibes.

he didn't make any unusual actions or statements, but he had the nerve to bark @ me (from about 20 feet away) to come back.

he could've been stoned, drunk, mentally ill, or just unreasonable. he didn't really "do" anything bad/wrong.

but i felt uncomfortable taking his $$$ because i was paranoid that if i took it, he would want something in return.

sometimes, though i have accepted $$$ from strangers. and i would be willing and eager to keep doing it, especially if and when i get made redundant from home depot.
