How many here are AuDHD?

I was diagnosed with severe ADHD inattentive type back around 2000, at age 45 or so. I became aware that my life experiences seem to match autistic experiences during a therapy session back in 2023. I've had an intake session with a psychologist a couple of months ago and go for an official evaluation next week. Was told at the intake session that I could consider myself to be on the spectrum even before the final evaluation. I was surprised that I was that obvious.

I don't have ADHD diagnosed but I heavily relate to it. The overlaps are great anyway so having features of ADHD as part of autism/aspergers is already quite common as to almost be expected. I think this was why they weren't thought to co-occur separately back in the day.

Am not even sure how to define ADHD symptoms ? but have my suspicions ?

I've been formally diagnosed with both.

I have ADHD but wasn't diagnosed with that until adulthood. When I was having bereavement counselling after my mother's death in late 2021, I talked about my challenging behaviour during childhood and that I felt responsible for my mother getting ill and all that (stress), and the counselor asked if I'd ever been tested for ADHD. I said no, and she helped refer me to get assessed, as she felt a diagnosis of something she was sure sounded like I had the symptoms of might help me understand my child self more. Autism doesn't really explain my challenging behaviours as a child, but ADHD does exactly.

I am not diagnosed with ADHD. I do relate to some of the traits, but as previously said by Fishyfisherton, there are many areas they overlap. I've watched a few videos where they talk about both and AUDHD, and I definitely do relate more to the autism side of things, and a bit less to the ADHD side.

I am not voting in the poll at this time because I'm not strongly suspecting or diagnosed with ADHD.

I agree about the overlap, but my question was because ADHD traits/symptoms did not fully point to my life experiences. I knew when I heard about adult ADHD in the mid to late '70's that it mirrored my life exactly although I was never hyperactive in the typical sense.

Autism answers a whole separate set of questions for me. I'll get back after my full evaluation.

Oh yes I would be so interested to hear from you after your full evaluation. I do know there are people who are diagnosed with both. And if the ADHD traits specifically resonate with you enough, it's possible you have both.

It's even possible that I have both but at this time, I think for myself, my ADHD traits are explained enough with the overlap of autism. But I do occasionally read up on it and consider the possibility. Just usually don't feel like it for myself.

After finally getting but not welcoming the Autism Dx , kinda lost interest in more dxes , but really seriously saw direct
comparisons between my ADD friends and myslf .
