Haunted Hotel (2025)

Season 1, episodes 1 through 10

Fun show. A woman and her two children, older boy, younger girl, move into hotel once owned by her brother. He is dead, and he haunts the place. He is voiced by Will Forte, and he is pretty cheerful for a ghost.
The hotel is filled with many ghosts.
There is also a young boy, about the same age as the young sister. His name is Abaddon, and he is a demon as old as time.

Last night we finally finished watching our way through all of the episodes of:

It's not serious and not intended to be serious. It is just supposed to be entertaining and we thought it was!

I used to watch tv a lot, but I now watch very little tv.

However, last night I watched the first episode of Primeval on tubitv.

I thought it was too far removed from reality to be very good. I doubt that I ever watch another episode.

Coronation Street

Episodes from May and June 1961. Surprisingly perhaps, almost all of the first six months of the show, from December 1960 to June 1961, are available on YouTube. In black and white, and picture quality not the greatest at times, but fascinating stuff nonetheless. Ken Barlow, Emily Nugent, Annie Walker, Elsie Tanner and Alf Roberts are all there, and continued to be regulars into the 1980s, 1990s and beyond.

Spooky in Love

Episode 2

This indeed a spooky show, but also humorous.
Cheon Yeo-ri (Park Eun-bin) sees ghosts. She wears gloves and does her best not to touch other people. If her hands touch someone, they will see a surreal nightmare deathscape.
Ma Gang-uk is a prosecutor that keeps running into Yeo-ri while investigating disappearances and murder.
From what I've read, they eventually start working together, but so far he just seems surprised when he arrives at a scene that was not easy to figure out, and she has already beaten him to the scene. She has the advantage because the victim tells her where to go.

Example of a funny part. She is on a cliff. She starts to fall back, her arms outstretched. Behind, below her are jagged rocks and the ocean. Gang-uk leaps into action (everything is slow motion). He reaches for her. She sees his hand get near, and she pulls both hands away from him towards her chest. She is trying to protect him. It is all quite funny as they both fall into the water below. Under the water, they find the person they are both looking for.
That's one spoiler. I just spoiled it to give the read a taste of the show.

Brookside

Episodes from May 1991. A soap opera set in Liverpool which ran from 1982 to 2003 in the UK. Never anywhere near as popular as rubbish like the BBC's East Enders, but that's probably because it was shown on Channel 4, which was always regarded as a bit of a niche, or even an elite, media outlet. Hmmm.....

Coronation Street

Episodes from January 1973. Oh man, Len Fairclough, Alf Roberts, Ken Barlow, Ena Sharples, Annie Walker, Lucille Hewitt....this show was a time capsule even back then, with characters such as these going back to the earliest days in 1960-61. Still, at least it was all in colour by the 1970s.

Watched two episodes of Hello, My Twenties. I thought my guest might enjoy it. I don't think he does.
Two episodes of Spooky in Love were released over the weekend, but I did not watch them because my guest has not seen the first two episodes, and may not be interested.

The show is romantic, funny, and a bit spooky because there is murder and ghosts involved.

Coronation Street

Two episodes from the first week of April 1973. The first appearances of Deirdre Hunt as a regular character (she was in the show for over 40 years), she was subsequently Deirdre Langton, Deirdre Barlow, Deirdre Rachid and Deirdre Barlow again. Was never really all that keen on the character, but she did have an eventful career in the Street.
