The answer is literally in your sig. We can stop using software that was vibecoded using AI (and we should, as it's been proven dozens of times over to be a massive security risk), go back to using software that was coded the old-fashioned way (by overworked POC in the third world, which is its own separate problem but that's beyond the scope of this thread) and watch those companies hemorrhage money.

Problem is, the "overworked POC in the third world" (including Boo himself, the OP of this thread) are also using AI -- and, apparently, being forced to use it to an unreasonable, counterproductive degree, just like folks in wealthier countries.

Rather than rejecting AI altogether, what I think is needed is more widespread recognition of a reasonable middle ground -- using AI but not over-relying on it. The problem is that too many business managers have the attitude that the supreme good is to do absolutely everything at breakneck speed, an attitude that will likely cause longterm harm to their businesses.

As I see it, over-reliance on AI is just one more instance of the tendency of all-too-many business managers to be penny-wise and dollar foolish, to have the attitude that saving a penny in obvious costs is worth wasting a million dollars in hidden costs. (For example, in programming, the hidden cost of an over-reliance on AI is having a lot more bugs that are also harder to debug.)
