Economists say world population may have already crossed into below replacement fertility, faster than UN estimates

This is true not only for the most industrialized countries, but also for middle-income countries like Thailand and Colombia. 2056 is when world population is expected to peak, at around 9 billion people.

children have become exorbitantly expensive to have and raise at least here in America, with its half-@$$ed social support for anybody not a millionaire. the self-righteous right-wing fake-xtian wealthy here like to moralize and say the rest of us aren't carrying our economic weight when they were like the baseball player born on third base who thinks he hit a triple. damned hypocrites

Kids are expensive in other parts of the world too including Japan and even China. I've read that after years of enforcing the one child and two child policies on China's families they started suffering a shrink in population and what was once the most populated country in the world is now outpopulated by India.

The CCP has even started looking for ways to encourage Chinese families to have more babies. Funny how everyone loves comparing the US to The Handmaid's Tale, and then you have countries like China with draconian laws about the babies you can or can't have

kids have always been expensive and have always been financial liabilities since we moved off the family farm.
