Yes, there were 8 people, myself including and two cute dogs belonging to the hosts :) One of the guests did fell out of the hanging egg chair - more precisely, it was the egg chair that fell and the man fell out. Luckily, nothing wrong happened to him. But he did sit in it again to prove it to the rest of us that it's safe to use it... and then the egg chair fell AGAIN 8O

When I joined Mensa 45 years ago, I found that much of the social activity was at parties at different houses. I would arrive about 15 minutes early and help the hosts set up. After people arrived I would visit briefly as people arrived and after 20-30 minutes leave. I found this a way to manage social engagement with less stress.

Parties aren't an issue for me, so if I'm invited, I'll go to a birthday party, or some holiday party.

I don't. Generally, I wouldn't know anyone there so there wouldn't be anything for me to do. I wouldn't have a reason to talk to anyone since I don't know anyone.

I don't mind parties, although I'm not big on them either.

The worst that can happen is making a fool of myself and it's not like that's never happened before.
