Or did he turn a blind eye? who knows...

Also he hinted that he has someone he trusts who evaluated his son for this...so that to me says it’s maybe some type of friend of his.

To me it should be impartial. Meaning from an outside source that is not related to that situation at all. Or as little as possible.

That’s another reason I highly question that situation.

Also, his son is a drug user/addict.

So...um...I can tell you from what I know about that. Maybe personally...I am more towards responsible users if I am one. No, I don’t wish to get into large discussions on this.

In any case, even drug users and dealers do not really tolerate sex offending (esp with children) for the most part from what I understand. Maybe some do but...in prison it’s mostly not tolerated.

No drug user truly does not know about jail.

And his claims about his son being a “hero” for writing a book about ASD and jail are super annoying to me personally.

My wife purchased all his books. We read everything and there was nothing in them that provided any valuable information for our daughter. We also tried CBT to address sensory issues and the psychologist was using cookie cutter techniques that I could have come up with that did not work.

Hence there is no therapy for autism.

I mostly found them to not be helpful as well.

Auties *tend* towards being honest.
I am compulsively honest, though I have disciplined myself, somewhat.
'Solid gold' honesty isn't appreciated in an NT dominated social system.

Mainly a lot of annoying people.

With a few ones who I find enjoyable to talk to.

I was surprised at how many auties embraced groupthink, rather than critical thinking.
So many are into collectivism rather than individualism.
I wasn't expecting that when I came here almost 8 years ago. 8O

What have you adapted your thinking to?

Not to expect too much from the autistic community.

I have a theory that the reason why many auties 'go off the rails', against our natural inclinations, is because of "cultural dysphoria".

I am getting the impression you don't like Tony Attwood.
I do wonder why you have brought up this non-sequitur.

Psychopathy is different then sociopathy and in some cases sociopaths can feel empathy so...

Ask yourself: Do you have a weak conscience.

Quote:
A psychopath doesn’t have a conscience. If he lies to you so he can steal your money, he won’t feel any moral qualms, though he may pretend to. He may observe others and then act the way they do so he’s not “found out,” Tompkins says.

A sociopath typically has a conscience, but it’s weak. They may know that taking your money is wrong, and they might feel some guilt or remorse, but that won’t stop their behavior.

Both lack empathy, the ability to stand in someone else’s shoes and understand how they feel. But a psychopath has less regard for others, says Aaron Kipnis, PhD, author of The Midas Complex. Someone with this personality type sees others as objects he can use for his own benefit.

Probably because sociopaths get what they want.

If you ignore morality...being a sociopath is obviously more advantageous than being an autistic. Autism is a handicap, and sociopathy is...whatever the opposite of a handicap...is.

But if she isnt already reaping the benifits of being a sociopath then it could be wishful thinking, and she might not be a sociopath after all.

I mean...you don’t know me IRL so how do you know what benefits I have or don’t.

And they do have some similarities.

And autistic people CAN be abusive. I don’t deal with people who claim one group of people is all one way or the other.

If you were a sociopath then you would be a grifter making tons of money . If you were an autistic you would be a dorky nerd barely able to hold down a job. If you were a sociopath then you would be Bernie Maddoff ( a millionaire until the cops caught up with you, and then you would be a prison inmate). If you were an autistic then you would be like the Rain Man and be in another kind of institution.

I am being a bit tongue in cheek, and using stereotypes. But to make the point that autistics and sociopaths are two hugely different things. So which of my stereotype examples do you think is more like you? Rain Man, or Bernie Maddoff?

Ok. That is your opinion.

You didnt answer my question.

So...

Which of the two are you more like?

OK ...forget about a low functioning savant like Rainman.

Howbout a high functioning aspie type. Lets go with someone like Spock in Startrek, or Sheldon Leonard in the Bg bang theory.

Would you say that you were more like Sheldon Leonard, or more like Bernie Madoff?

My brother had aspd. Not sure if he understands as psychopath or sociopath. He was in and out of prison all of his life. Lived an absolute parasitic lifestyle and never earned an hones penny in his life. He could absolutely charm the birds from the trees, was super intelligent but completely abused any trust that anyone ever put in him. I could go on but I won't.

In no way did he resemble aspergers or autism. His spectrum was completely different.

I think as diagnosed with conduct disorder at 14 and and borderline at 16 I don't remember this happening but I was in a young offenders place at the time. How I differ from my brother is a hat I do display some characteristics of aspergers syndrome but this may also be due to cptsd. Empathy and compassion are things that I have struggled with all my life but because I feel that somewhere deep down insid me I want to be o be a good person, I have learned to connect on an emotional level. Its not natural for me to do so though.

Oh yeah my brother died at 50 years old. This was mainly due to his lifestyle.
