Movies you refuse to watch

I never saw the movie, but I read the book, back in high school. I was just as disgusted.

I haven't seen the 50 Shades films and probably won't make an effort to watch them.

I saw this film when I was probably too young. I went to school the next day and there were so many birds sitting on the telephone lines etc. and seemingly watching me. I was quite nervous!

I have seen the end of " The Birds" despite the fake birds, it's very terrifying. A bunch of seagulls trying to attack a a person's hand when they open a window.

Ooooh, fun topic! Let's see... Will not watch:

1) Any Star Wars movies EXCEPT the original versions of the original three--before George Lucas scribbled all over them with the CGI equivalent of crayon.

2) "I Am Legend" (Because I saw it once and it scared the living s**t out of me.)

3) "A Christmas Story" (Because it's lame. I don't understand why this one keeps getting replayed on TV.)

4) "The Hobbit" movies (Because a lighthearted children's adventure story does not a trilogy make.)

5) "Hannibal" (sequel to Silence of the Lambs) ...Because the Silence of the Lambs has the perfect last line of any movie ever... and such things should not be messed with for the sake of more box office profits. ;-P

i won't watch anything with madonna in it. no "sex in the city" for me either. nothing about violence. the hollywood "comedies" these days don't amount to much, crass but lacking real humor that is not "put down" humor.

Silence of the Lambs. Just does not appeal to me. I don't really care why Anthony Hopkins ate people with fava beans.

Yes. I'm so glad we have people preserving these films for us, and it's hard to believe we have beautiful 35mm preservations right now, when ten years ago the best we had were some shoddy Laserdisc transfers.

I don't mind the prequels that much though, even though the CGI was awful. At least Phantom Menace had real sets and actual film cameras underneath.


I don't watch it because it took a giant poo all over the book, it has almost nothing in common with it. I'd rather watch The Last Man on Earth.


Another movie that took a little bit of a poo on the book, and those books are some of my very top favorites. It was cool to see all the locations in Italy though, I guess nobody was allowed to film in some of those locations until this movie came along.

Red Dragon, too...definitely just put out for profits. A lot of it was shot-for-shot remade from the original (Manhunter), with only a couple extra scenes from the book (it is way too much book to fit into one movie), a bunch of unnecessary extra scenes with Lector that made Graham look inept, and a terrible (and sexist) ending.


But...Dick Tracy!! !

I love Spider-Man (as many of you already know), but I don't think I'll be able
to sit through Spider-Man: No Way Home without feeling overtly emotional.

I refuse to watch any movies made after the early 2000's because they're just so bad now. It's all sequels, remakes, super hero junk, and all sorts of mediocre garbage catering to Gen Z that spends more time being preachy than entertaining.


Gone With the Wind is difficult for me to watch because its such an undoubtably racist but well-loved movie. I've grown to despise how it romantasized slavery in the "Old South".

I also dont like action movies. Frankly I find them more disturbing than horror movies.

I also refuse to watch copaganda shows. My Mom loves them though.

I also refuse to watch any of the Game of Thrones spinoffs because not only did the original show end so badly, but I've grown to realize that it was overhyped and not really that good to begin with.

Also I refuse to watch any more of the show Wednesday. I was a big fan of The Addams Family early 90's movies and they really ruined my favorite character and family.

A 4th Mummy film will begin filming soon with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz set to return.

The Twilight Films were another one for me. In fact I pretty much forgot they even existed. They just sounded really bad to me... though not as terrible as Warm Bodies where the chick falls in love with a zombie. Nothing says sparkly teen romance like necrophilia.

Also I avoided watching the Harry Potter movies since I was a kid. Nobody understood why including myself because I was always obsessed with the idea of witchcraft and magic. But I think the drama surrounding Rowling's views on gender really reinforced my decision not to bother with those movies.

Just like Star Wars. In fact Disney seems to ruin everything they touch now. I really loathe Disney and if it wasnt for The Golden Girls I would have washed my hands of them ages ago.

Also I refuse to watch ANY of the Resident Evil movies. The video games are so much better.

Most of 'em.

I often get people incorrectly assuming that I'm a film nerd who's seen all the classics but I haven't. However, do I keep a media journal? Yes. Yes I do.

I refuse to watch Artemis Fowl. It just annoys me when directors take a beloved character and decide nah.

"Hey, you know the kid mastermind who is upset that his family is turning away from evil, so he decides to try to exploit the fae for gold?"

"Yes?"

"Well, what if we made him not evil? What if we just completely changed his whole deal? Also, while we're at it, let's make him athletic and into surfing for some reason".

"Surfing? Doesn't the plot mainly occur within the grounds of a mansion? Stony walls, rainy Ireland, old money, and a smart kid who is terrible at all things athletic? What does surfing have to do with anything?"

"Yes".

Listen. Just make a new story if you're going to do all that. The reviews of the film tell me everything I need to know.

I would point you in the direction of horror films if that is a genre you can tolerate, the last few years have come out with some banger films, like Sinners, Nosferatu 2024, Frankenstein, the Maxxxine trilogy, etc.

As for films I avoid: I avoid war and copaganda movies like the plague.
