The Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup - later known as the Stanley Cup - was first presented in 1893 to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association (AAA's) by virtue of their 7-1 record as Canadian amateur champions.
The Montreal AAA also won the first Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup championship series the following year, beating the Ottawa Capitals 3-1, in the very first Cup game, on 22 March 1894, and winning the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association tournament 3 games to 2.

Czechoslovakia Gains Independence (1918)
The creation of Czechoslovakia was the culmination of the long struggle of the Czechs against their Austrian rulers. Benefiting from a liberal, democratic constitution, the new republic appeared to have a bright future. Yet the new state was far from being a stable unit. With its antagonistic and nationalistic ethnic elements, it reflected the inherent weakness of the Hapsburg empire.

October 28, 2006, the former Czechoslovakia further splits into 4 countries: The Cz Republic, Ech-a-Skech, Slov, which is a very lazy country, and Kia, internationally renowned as a car-exporting country.
