No need to read. Stopid confession.
Hurray! I will be kicked out of school. I know that it is my own fault to get kicked out of there because i have this social phobia and i couldn't communicate with people at school. I will never have anything to look forward to. Everyone abandons me. I have to go back to my old hometown. There are people who bullied me at my old school and there are my grandparents. And the worst of my memories are with this town. I know that my grandparents will make my life hell at their place and i do not want to go to my mothers place because i will be only a burden to her she barely has money to live herself.
And when this hellday with my grandparents comes i sure will want to die! Then my death sentence will accomplish itself by my own hand.
On wednesday i will hear what my psychiatrist has to say about my school situation.
A moment ago when i nodded to my aunt when she asked me about quitting school then i was ready to burst crying, but i wont let myself cry because i have no right to such relief! I have deserved all this, it is all my fault. I am even afraid to go out of my room because i am afraid that my aunt might start yelling at me.
I never knew how to cope with life..
I see i made a little mistake in the text - It is not my parents who would take it away but my aunt and grandparents. They hate it when i am not like they want. My parents are disvorced and live separately on their own. But i have to live with my aunt because i am going to school here.
Is there other options you can do? Like play video games, watch TV, read, color, play board games when the computer gets taken. I try to think of other options when I can't do something for a reason. Like the time we had to get our laptop fixed so we only had one computer. I wasn't going to hog up the computer and I would have to let my bf use it too so I had to think of other options I can do in my apartment. I also told my self my stories weren't going anywhere and they will be there and so will the websites when the laptop gets done and my stories can wait. I even gave my bf options too when he kept complaining he would have nothing to do and I told him there are other things to do. He likes reading sci fi so he can read that, he likes video games so he can play the PS2.
Has this kind of behavior modification worked for any of you?
I've never taken anything away from my son to try and make him act different. I add things to his like to make him do more to improve himself. Then I micro-manage him in ways he feels good about. Neither of us has all the answers so a lot of it is trial and error but I never put him in a position where he feels despair from my actions.
My parents never took things away from me as a punishment so I wouldn't know what that would have done to me. However, my parents didn't like me anymore when I became a teenager so they threw away anything that meant a lot to me if they knew it did because they didn't want to be reminded that I was me.

It got me to do things like the time when I refused to put my clothes away and stuff, my mom wouldn't let me do anything unless I did it. One time she turned the TV off when I was playing a video game and she wouldn't let me do anything until I took my clothes upstairs to my room. I got so tired of not having anything to do, I finally did it and my mom turned the TV back on. It was horrible when she wouldn't let me play my game or play with anything else unless I did what she wanted me to do but it did get me to do what she wanted me to do. It was teaching me responsibility. If my mom was always doing things for me, I would never learn to do them myself because I would be too dependant on her and who knows what would happen when I moved out and I was on my own. Sometimes I wonder if that's why some people are lazy because they never pick up after themselves so their home is always a mess because their mommies always did it for them and didn't make them do things on their own growing up.
When she took things away from me, it got me to not do it again because I didn't want to go through it again. I have always hated being punished and it amazes me when I hear some kids don't even care because they find other things to do while the ones who do care are miserable and depressed and the parents are like "He/she has to learn and he won't do it again." If people think there is a better way of punishing their kids than taking things away from them or taking away their privileges, then they can do it with their own kids because every parent is different.
Whenever my punishment would end, it was heaven and I would be really happy again.
I heard punishment is supposed to be hell and make you unhappy or else you wouldn't learn a thing. If someone sends you to your room as a punishment and you don't mind it because it keeps you away from your family and from socializing, it's not a punishment then is it so your parents would have to find another punishment that would actually work and it would have to be something you really like or enjoy doing, not something you wouldn't mind such as being sent to your room.
If a parent took something from their teen as a punishment and their child hardly uses it, it's not a punishment then because they won't care if it got taken from them because they won't miss it and it won't drive them crazy without it.

Your mother sounds like she really knows you and makes choices to help you succeed but not overwhelm you into giving up.
I tried to imagine what it would be like for my parents to take things away from me to change my behavior. I think I would like it because it might mean they cared about me.
As for my son, he causes his own consequences. If he doesn't put the dishes back that he surrounds his computer with, he runs out of dishes. So he's getting much better at it. If he sleeps too long, he misses out on something he had hoped to do. If he doesn't clean up his area, his older brother and his girl friend don't like hanging around so when he knows they're coming over, he really works at cleaning up. If he doesn't pick up his socks, he runs out of socks. If he doesn't keep things reasonably straightened up he loses things or breaks them because he stepped on them. So he's seeing why he needs to take care of himself and his surroundings.
He, kind of, lives on his own because I split the upstairs and downstairs. We, parents and my severely autistic daughter live downstairs with a separate kitchen.

Hi skonamis , I felt the same way at school, now I still have these issues. Spokane girl says the right thing about learning to live for yourself, only I still haven't learnt, because my mum varies wildly, sometimes like tonight she screams at me how I don't do any chores etc, other times she won't let me
