This is why I don't like it. If I can't understand what they're saying, I won't listen to it. :/

I like comedic rap from Little Kuriboh, Weird Al, Lonely Island, etc.

I like quite a bit of it. Not really encyclopedic knowledge of it though. Obviously a lot of the modern mainstream rap is horrible but search around a bit and you can find some gems.

I love the idea behind rap music - listening to some of them go with their coherent lyrics in such a style is fascinating and lots of fun. Most of what I don't like about hip hop tends to lie in the production to be honest - a lot of the time it tends to sound a bit repetitive and "clunky" if you get what I mean. I remember reading an article about J Dilla (a famous and respected hip hop producer) and the examples used throughout his career (mainly instrumental) didn't really do much for me and there wasn't much difference between a lot of them. I think I probably would have enjoyed it more with words attached. Hip hop played by a live band always seems to sound awesome though. I guess another thing I don't like about it a lot of the time is that hip hop albums tend to be very bloated and not very consistent - that can happen in individual songs too, where I like one or two verses but hate practically the rest of it. So when I find a rap artist that can stay consistently good, I FRACKING LOVE IT.

some of my favourites from my limited knowledge-

also I've never been a big fan of Kanye West, but his new song Power is pretty cool, if a bit over long.
