If you want to play along it's still tuned in 432 as per ye olden days.. it also came complete with the original spider inhabitants (perhaps!)!
That's probably the most unusual instrument I have.. [first post, yay!]

welcome to WP, mon frere. 8)
i also like the more organic sound of 432.

Thank you for the welcome!
I'm relatively new to the posting side of forums, but it seems here everyone is on a similar wavelength.

To get ya on topic, I can put forward the group 'Circulus', long time purveyors of obscure instruments and fully tuned to 432.
Had the pleasure of a gig with them recently and the main man Michael plays one mean fuzz Cittern indeed!

Wow, this instrument is awesome, I love it!! I so want one, it'd be awesome to learn to play. :D

The Chinese sheng, a precursor to the accordion:

I just found out about it while reading about accordions, and it's sounds beautiful!

I was reading up on musical saws a couple weeks ago and was only just the other day wondering what it would sound like if I used a bow on a banjo. What kind of banjo do you use?

I play a normal length 5 string with a modified bridge and a Bass g string added on the low end.

about that time, i had the opportunity [but not the fundage, alas] to obtain a sub-contrabass flute in CC [32 cycles per second low C], which had 16' of pipe to resonate. it was folded over like a big paperclip so one could play it sitting down. it took a major amount of air to play. it sounded a lot like a solitary pipe organ flue pipe of 16' rank. those who played one say it made the air around them vibrate. the vendor wanted $4K for it.,which was actually a bargain, considering a japanese kotato sub-CB flute goes for $40k american. i think i will just stick with playing my stereo.
anyways, your instrument sounds a lot like a C Bass Flute, in overall timbre. there is a recording of flutist Paul Horn playing his C Bass in Taj Majal, it is something to hear- the ambience/reverberation was out of this world.

Well this is the only wind I have played, though I'm a mean whistler (inhale and exhale). I looked up sub-cb's on youtube, doesn't do them justice. I need to see one live sometime. I'm downloading http://www.amazon.com/Inside-Taj-Mahal- ... B00005A9B2 I assume that's what you're talking about?

this is the recording i was referring to. as for whistling, i myself am merely an ornery whistler  . so you would be my whistling hero then.
what is strange is that i initially learned how to whistle while inhaling, then i lost that ability and now can only whistle the conventional exhaling method. my favorite whistler, roger whitaker, is [in addition to having a golden voice] an expert inhaling whistler. he has to be heard to be believed. he can do bird calls in addition to musical whistling.

I have a Celtic tinwhistle, though I haven't learned to play it properly. Seems rude to the neighbors. :?
