Yesterday a friend told me -and she was convinced- that smoking had been forbidden altogether in the US.

One friend convinced me at age 3 that she spoke Chinese and even "spoke" some to prove it.

At the birthday party of an aspie (who doesn't know about AS) in my class one of the guys asked another to hand him the "Levité", a brand of soda with a name imitating French but which would mean "[I] levitated" in Spanish. The aspie kid overheard him and asked "Did you really just levitate?"
"Yeah, I did." (in a sarcastic tone)
"WOW!"
None of the others was laughing and they never told him it was a joke.

My Ex-Boyfriend once said the new age store he was trying to open would attract Pliedian aliens who would bring about cosmic change to the planet.

Oh, I wonder why he's an "ex".

That friend called me every single night, for a week, while I was on my first Work Experience and she told me that she wanted to commit Suicide, every time. Than on the Saturday, she told me that my life was going to get a lot worse. That was back in 1993.

I was watching a movie with my dad. Not sure which one (we see a lot), and the guy in front of us was muttering, "Whatever you do. Don't leave your bodies."

Yeah. That guy was odd.

Just this morning, the phone rang and it was a wrong number. The guy was looking for a part out of my father in law's salvage yard. I told him that I didn't have anything to do with the salvage yard but I would give him the number to call. He got snippy with me and said " You have the same last name don't you? Why can't you help me?" I got mad and hung up. I was thinking that my last name is an extremely common one that probably a billion people have, so everyone else in the world with the same last name, must know what this salvage yard has.

I was hanging out with my two friends, mother and son, and saw a picture of the son in front of a fancy car. I asked where the picture was taken.
Then they tried to convince me that the car was his. He bought it in Prag two years earlier and it was still in Prag.

Now my friend has no drivers license, no money what so ever, (lives with his father, eats at his grandmothers) and why would he buy a car, and leave it in a foreign country, that he can't drive?

I said it was the stupidest lie I ever heard.

That would be so much funnier if I weren't the only person that got that reference.

They Might be Giants - Whistling in the Dark. Whoh, flashback...

Once a guy came up to me on the street and told me emphatically to not chase the dragon...
Another time a guy on the street told me to take two gats. He said some other things I don't recall but stressed the two gats. I really wonder what a gat is.
And why do some people try to start conversations with total strangers (me) in public restrooms? These almost always are bizarre.

The other day an elderly man pushing a shopping cart on the street came up to me. He had a poster of a lost dog, a mutt. He pointed to my dog, which is a Blue Heeler and said, "Is that your dog?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Well you know, they lost a dog, they got posters up everywhere, that might be their dog, is that your dog?" I said, "Yes, it is." And moved on.

These are the types of scintillating conversations I have with people around here.

I was waiting at a bus stop in Ohio once and a woman started telling me that she fell asleep at some peoples' house and they tried to cut off part of her big toe. Then she said, "Pretty weird, huh?" I had to agree. There were always people hanging around the bus stop saying strange things but that's the only one I remember that was not laced with profanity.
Except there was a young woman who kept demanding to know how much money I made and how I was able to take college classes. Like it was her business. The woman with the big toe was actually more polite.

Dark.... dark....dark... dark... Whistling in the dark.
I'm glad there are other giants fans.

One time when I was younger, a friend actually convinced me that Hitler used giant Bey-Blades as a weapon during WWII. The next day I told him that it was amazing, but he said that it was a joke just to keep me quiet. I was like "You diry bugger!" and we had a good laugh. Giant Bey-blades in WWII! What a thought!

Standing outside a coffee shop with my daughter, drinking some coffee, waiting for my wife.
Old lady comes up to us and begins babbling on about how young people today are totally immoral and that men in their twenties shouldn't be dating girls in high school, blah blah blah.
I was so stunned I couldn't reply, but fortunately my kid did. "He's my dad, he's 34, and I'm 12 and who are you to make random assumptions about people? Now bugger off!"

ok heres a good one, im not kidding about this one. when i was back in high school(12th grade) the svhool nurse told me that i needed to take hep-c shots to fix and own door closers. yes, you heard right needing a hep-c shot series(3 shots over a period of 6 months) to fix and own them?? well school nurse, guess what, i gruaduated, own 3 closers with arms and alot of storm door ones, and havent been sick since i started collecting them.

i mean hello, 8O how can i possibly get hep-c from a door closer?? sounded like some silly and sick scare tactic to me.

whatever she was trying to get across it was funny at time and i still laugh my butt off thinking about what she said!

KBABZ: Damn straight... she's an awesome kid. She kinda self-raises... we mostly just kinda guide her.

I once convinced my cousin that Dr. Pepper was made from the juices extracted from large S. American beetles discovered by a man named Dr. Wilburforce Pepper in 1885.
My wife convinced her sister that you could re-fizz Mt. Dew with dish soap.

Some Italian woman at my Clubhouse told me to pack up and move back to England, after I've cracked a joke about introducing myself to the people of a new Friendship House in town, as a person who likes Double Decker Buses. That happened during our Planning Meetings, today.
