New anti-depressant called Viibryd
I'm glad to hear that you've got something that works so well.
Personally I don't trust pharmaceuticals. I lost the faith when the Effexor I had been taking in 2001 caused withdrawal, and the internet clearly showed that it caused withdrawal, yet there was absolutely no warning that it caused withdrawal. Sure there's 'discontinuation' symptoms listed NOW, but what a load of crock to not have mentioned that when they first came out.
Either they ignored that withdrawal was a thing, or they didn't properly test the drug before releasing it. In either case it showed a serious problem that could conceivably happen with any drug.
Beyond that though, no antidepressant has ever really worked for me, and I'm incredibly dubious as to how these drugs work. Especially since finding out I'm a celiac, I believe my depression is merely a symptom of that, so I don't particularly want to increase my dopamine or serotonin as that's not really the issue.

Anyhow, I didn't notice any benefit added to the Wellbutrin XL I already take...praozac offered more "relief." What I did notice, though, is that if you forget to take your meds...WHEW! I get brain zaps when attempting to fall asleep that are so intense that literally my head will jerk off the pillow. It's like an airplane is trying to take off in my brain. NOT FUN.
So, if this works for you...thats f'ing awesome! Just be sure to keep it at stable level in your blood stream...I'd hate for anyone to experience the airplane brain thing.
If you decide to try it after this thread, and find it doesn't work for you...know its not a wonder drug, and you are not the unlucky bastard for whom it just didnt work.
Thank you for your comment. I too have gotten to the point where I would rather be depressed and want sex than the other option (it's been about a year). I just started Viibryd yesterday because, after 6 other tries at anti-depressants, I haven't found one where my libido is good and my mood isn't bad (I had one where libido was great but I was violently angry a lot, and that sucked). I'm hoping I get back my libido, and I'll post a follow-up either way.
