I hate any holiday. I hate fun. If I dare celebrate this year, I will club myself. I agree with your opinion on Halloween. All Halloween is for is the EMT's going out to get fat, not Tommy, or Wes. I would say Jeff would. He has a fat head himself. I might as well join the damn Elkton Emergency Sqaud for dinner that night. Slim Shady don't get fat.

As i see it, the one advantage of halloween is that you can dress however you want, and no-one can say anything about it.
Which is an advantage for those of us with slightly eccentric dress sense.
Unfortunately, this is overshadowed by shops filled with halloween crap way to early and strangers at you r door.
The worst of which are the chavs and neds who put their hoods up and harrass you at your door in the hopes of intimidating money from you.(Seems abit like burglary to me)

I don't like Halloween, but I got invited to the hospital where my dog works for a Halloween party. It will be fun for the dogs. It's not as hard to be around people in that sitauation because mostly what we talk about is dogs. I mostly regurgitate stuff I've already said before. When they start talking about training, though, it is hard for me not to say anything. Then most of the other people start acting standoffish to me when I usually disagree with their method of training. My dog enjoys the company, though, and it helps her training, which helps the injured at the hospital. She will be a cheerleader this year.

Bless you, Dewclaw, I don't even want to know how they train the other doggies. Good for you for your (I'll bet) kinder and gentler way.

Ahem, with the exception of training dogs, it drives me nuts to see people dress their pooch up for Helloween, or worse, dye it some awful colour ! !! !!

I have disliked Halloween intensely since I got the living shiznit scared out of me by some considerably older kids. I was quite young at the time, and - being that the date hadn't really registered with me - I answered the door on Halloween night, thinking I was being helpful... and as a reward got at least three huge boys in deathmasks and black capes bellowing in my face.

Understandably terrified, I ran away crying - and my mother proceeded to chew the boys' ears off for scaring me. Which is, let me tell you, a far more frightening experience than anything those boys could throw at me...

Fortunately, these days we live far too far out in the country for any trick-or-treaters to bother making the trip out to see us.

Halloween is a good time to test my home defences. Land mines are going to sell like Turkey at Christmas.

Halloween doesn't agree with me. I woke up feeling suicidal, as I do, every Halloween. There was a bomb threat made to a resturaunt, over the phone at my Clubhouse and I was having a mini-meltdown an hour ago.

"I don’t think Tootsie Pops are that special, I just like the name, what with all that sexual innuendo. Tootsie… POPS!

I couldn’t tell that joke at the Public Library. This is a much better place to work.

A friend of mine gives out condoms for Halloween. Makes sense to me. What I don’t get is why (until recently) we could use cartoon characters to market cigarettes, but we still don’t use them to market condoms. “Rubber Ducky Condoms. Don’t get wet without one.” Micky & Minnie Mouse. Kids know that mice have sex, if not by the time they’re 10 then surely by the time they’re 20. If Donald and Daisy had used Rubber Duckys, they wouldn’t have all those 'nephews.'

Happy Halloween!"

All that I know, right now, is that I'm glad it's over.

It's an American import that Britain could do well without. I understand it's a very different affair over in the US but in Britain it's basically small children coming to your house 'demanding' sweets. I don't mind that so much but later on you get much older kids coming round - and, sometimes, if you refuse, you end up getting your property damaged (or in extreme cases, getting hurt).
