My avatar image is of a puppet that I got for christmas, named Dr Foo. He's a hand and rod puppet the same as most of the muppets, and I'm learning how he works (so to speak).
Plus, in about 40 years time, I'll probably look an awful lot like that. Maybe with a smaller mouth though
Ticker - as far as editing images goes, you can use just about any base image. Load it into any image editor (you can use windows built-in one if you don't have anything else and have a pc), and check the image attributes. in Paint that's just Control-E (or Image menu at the top, then Attributes). Check what pixel size the image is to begin with, then work out a scale factor to reduce it to the right size (140x140 for avatars). You will probably have to click the button next to pixels to change what units it displays the attributes in, it defaults to inches.
Once you have your scale factor as a percentage, click image and then "stretch and skew". put the number you worked out in both the horizontal and vertical stretch boxes, and click ok. You'll get a tiny image because of the zooming, but don't worry. Then you can save that image and upload it as your avatar.
Lots of pictures don't work as avatars, because you lose a lot of detail, but that's a rough guide to do it. You might well have a program that's far more powerful than Paint, but the basic prinicple is the same.
