She's 15. It's a wee bit hard to get a job at that age here, and I'd say that if she is telling the truth, her backwater town (sorry, RedMage) doesn't offer that many oppurtunities, re employment.

Murray Bridge isn't a town for gamers, and Aspies for that matter. :x

I want a PC too, but all the good gaming ones cost a fortune!

Unknown, you have NTSC there. We have PAL, so that means people from America can't send games to Australia due to the stupid TV thing. :x

Don't you have TVs now that can do both? The problem is region coding. I don't know if it's legal to have de-regionized consoles in your country.

I'm not. I just want to play C&C Generals, and Unreal. :(

I dunno. It's my PS2 that's the problem. It's PAL, so I can ONLY play PAL games.

It's regioned so you can only play games coded for your region. You can get modded PS2s that don't have that problem.

Not hard to do yourself. There's plenty of sites that tell you how.

Is it possible to get a slim line PS2 modded though?

Unknown: Yeah, the first Unreal for PC.

The last time I got a mod-chip for a games console, it f***ed it up after a number of months.

(edited for censorship)

Stuff that. I don't want my PS2 to stuff up, as I haven't got a FF game for it yet.

There are solderless disc-based kits too that use a little jerry-rigging adaptor for swapping discs and a CD that disables the regional blockout.
