Bullying in the workplace
Yes, I have experienced workplace bullying
1. In one environment, I never disclosed my autism to the superiors but they figured out that I had a disability but most of their bullying was more covert.
A. They set me up for failure on cash register by making it look like I came up short at the end of my shift, so they took that privilege away from me. Yet, they put less money in the register.
B. They kept promising to promote me to manager and which I took seriously while they would laugh about it behind my back.
C. Other co-workers would sass off to me at times
I attempted to report what was going on to HQ only for my superiors to create a much more hostile work environment. The people at the top also said they were "Holding me accountable."
2. I was bullied at a small company that had a contract with an employment program at a sheltered workshop. What made it worse is that the CEO was an autism mom. However, she and her family were not trained to run such a program. They were also extremely ignorant and self-righteous. Not only that, my job coach was also very unprofessional
A. The owner of the company treated everyone much better than the way I was treated
- She invited all the other women at work to go out and do things
- Whenever my co-workers had a celebration, she would roll out the red carpet for them, while she stuck her nose up at my accomplishments
B. My superiors, co-workers, and job coach put me down all the time
-A couple of them called me names too, including the job coach
- Several of them would gossip about me behind my back,
-None of them came to my housewarming party
- The boss would also bully me by getting nasty with me whenever she found out I was calling her out on things did she did like.
-They would criticize me for the same things they did
-The owners brother also sexually harassed me which I thought was cute in the beginning until I learned that he was sexually harassing me
I had attempted to report the bullying to the job coach who was bullying me, she did nothing. I also told her supervisor but he did not do anything either. I also talked to a member of the DOL who came by to visit one time and interview the clients in the program, nothing. However, it was when I reported the job coach to the agencies that provided the funding that people started listening to me.
That family hates me to this day and especially my former boss, who is more interested in "Protecting her" family instead of being responsible and professional.
