Yeah, I know what you mean Apatura. I feel like that too.

Ditto.
I get days I just don't want to communicate at all on here by posting...and I have issues reading long posts. I take one look and find I cannot read it.

I feel quite a bit like an alien everywhere I go, so it's no different here.

There are people that I enjoy reading, but I don't know how to become friends with them. I don't know what to say and usually make a fool of myself if I try.

Well, I'm glad I started this thread, it seems to have touched on a subject that a lot of people have thought about...I wonder if it's an AS thing, to feel like you don't really belong somewhere even if you do even if it is just belonging to a group of others who also feel that they are 'outsiders'. I dunno, I feel like I'm talking crap tonight, lol. Tomorrow may be better.

Royger you can join my club. I feel the same as you do. I think the point is that a LOT of us don't feel we belong anywhere, not even here. We're all on the wrong planet :(

Well, Aylissa, I guess we're in the "we don't understand anything about WP" club.

Do you mean like with me and the demise of the Routemaster?

I'm not familiar with your personal story. But if that is what happened then I guess it applies to you. The point I was trying to make is that there is no such thing as "normal Aspergers". It varies from person to person. :)

Yes, it does vary. I've learned a lot about Asperger's here. A lot of the stuff I thought I knew about Asperger's is just plain incorrect.

(Like your kitty btw Arbie)

I understand that, CockneyRebel, your love of the RouteMaster. If anything happened to Primavera, my favourite painting (and obsession) I'd be distraught. In fact, I don't know what I'd do!

I sometimes believe that your ability to write is inversely proportional to your ability to talk.

At least in my case that is true. I am always underestimated and that used to make me angry.

We all have our moments. From drawing a blank, to seeing hypermeaning. I went through over twenty years writing nothing longer than a check, and that badly. I had stories in my head, but could not speak them, when I tried to write a page was long.

I found writting a way of talking to myself and seeming busy. I started turning out stories, then books. It took years, but I would rather type than talk. I speak in set ways, or repeat something I wrote. Writing is the comfortable creative expression for me now, I can give a speech, but not carry on a conversation, but I could write a book about it.

Some of what goes by I get nothing from, and watch the thread grow. Others relate. Some people are in many threads, some only in a few.

Some words leap off the screen, I deeply understand. Another post by the same person and I still relate to thier words. We have much to explore and map.

I will read a book for one good sentence, WP is much richer than that.

I certainly don't think I'm like that!

Yes WP is a rich place. I still 'read' here even when I'm not posting.

It is interesting what you said~ "I had stories in my head, but could not speak them, when I tried to write a page was long".
I found out just very recently that when I can't speak, when I have no words, I can paint! I paint much better pictures than when I am in 'talking mode'. This was a delightful discovery, that I can still express myself in this way.
