I have 2 DVD players

1) Some cheapo thing (with a dead LED display though I don't need that)
2) Lappy :D (the drive is hot-swappable but I leave it in because I don't use floppy disks any more)

There is also a Samsung DVD player in our lounge, but I can't claim ownership of it
plus a DVD ROM drive in the dining room computer, but that needs fiddling a bit (in windows somewhere) to play back video DVDs, again I can't claim ownership of it

I've got a broadcast grade Pioneer DVD player from work. It's nice because it ignores the macrovision flag on DVD discs, and I can dub DVD's to VHS tapes or other media. It is designed so that TV stations can broadcast DVD's over the air, so it also has an external sync connection. Macrovision plays around with the sync on a video signal, so if you were to add macrovision to a broadcast feed, it wouldn't transmit, and would only distort. For this reason standard household DVD players can't be used in broadcast studios.

I believe it also ignores region coding too. I got the deck when a user didn't want to pay to have it repaired. I spent the time and money to get it back going for myself

I had a Toshiba DVD player from January 2002 to April 2004

I had a Phillips DVD Recorder (played +R and +RW) from April 2004 to April 2006

I currently have an RCA DVD Recorder (also plays +R and +RW) since April 2006

Also, my HP computer has a DVD player

My DVD/VCR combo plays only NTSC DVDs, but if I edit IFO files and change "PAL" to "NTSC" in those files, the player can play such DVDs as well, but won't display subtitles properly, only the picture will be fine.
