This thread is homophobic as hell. Nobody is asking or forcing you to do anything or be anything you're not.

I've noticed this trend to where people aren't being inclusive to LGBT or gay people who also suffer in this community.

If you aren't gay, okay. Don't make a big deal about it.

There are sadly some of us who are. I didn't ask to be black. I didn't ask to be gay. Okay? We didn't ask to be gay, like we didn't ask to be on the spectrum. Ugh.

I didn’t ask to be white and Jewish, either. Or to be autistic.

I’m not a homophobe. We are talking about people who are homophobes.

Yes, but from what I've read in this thread, it seems many people are fear mongering (or at least upset of being incorrectly labelled) assumptions about LGBT people, and I wanted to clear that up.

Evidence, please?

If you see homophobic posts, report them. The moderators have low tolerance for bigotry of any kind.

If you believe that you have been the victim of Homophobic Harassment (e.g., Derogatory and/or offensive remarks about an individual's alleged or real homosexuality), the first thing to do is document your experiences, including date, time, type of harassment and who was the perpetrator -- this means to quote the offending post in another post.  Also, press the 'Report' button at the lower-right corner of the offending post, select the category from the drop-down menu, leave a comment in the space provided, and click 'Submit'.

You can also PM the moderators and/or submit a post in the Moderator Attention thread.

I suspect that the big issue for most of us is not so much the labels we're given, but that most of the labels we're given are flat-out wrong.

I imagine that I would not mind being labeled as gay if I actually was gay, just as I would not mind being labelled a conservationist if I actually was one of those, too.  Or a "gun-nut".  Or a sports fan. Or...

I also didn't ask to be mixed-race and Catholic. Or to also ask to be on the spectrum.

I am also not an LGBT-phobe, but being told to behave like one irritates me very much.
