I had the exact reaction as you. And my mom was happy for me and wanted to celebrate with me and talk to me about it. I wanted nothing to do with any of it and I certainly didn't want to talk about it. I was never ready and mourned the changes in my body.
Pregnancy and post-partum were similarly difficult for me. Change is hard and having to process all of the physical changes was difficult and emotionally taxing.
