Where do you go for a blind date or first date?

If she lets you take her to McDonald's for a first date, she's a keeper.

On a first date, I’d usually prefer to pay my own way. I wouldn’t want to look back on my first date with a partner and think about McDonalds, not that I’d want to do anything extravagant either.

^ I think it is reasonable to not want to go to McDonald's on a first date, in all seriousness.

My parents’ house for a meal with the entire family.

"Haha, so, tell me, what do you like to do for fun? Knit? Puzzles? Commit crime? Poetry? Surfing? Tax Evasion? Stand up comedy?"

"Huh?"

One of my silly suggestions from years ago: take her to McDonalds and tell her she can super-size anything on the menu.

^ That seems like a sound choice. Insisting on the dollar menu is more of a second date thing.

Make it a coffee date. They often have free coffee in the ER waiting area.

Because I am a grown ass man, 90% of my first dates have been dinner dates. I gladly paid for all but one, because she invited me and wanted to pay. My style of dating was always the charm offensive. Even if I knew it wasn't going to work out, I had nice company and a good dinner.

But, and this is a big but, I got to know anyone I asked pretty well before we ever dated. I suppose if you text back and back and forth, and that's all you do, coffee is OK.

I did once go on a first date with a woman to IKEA.

Protesting at the Westboro Baptist Church OR crashing a Westboro Baptist Church protest would be fun.

I’ve also wanted to go the Creation “Museum” and Ark Encounter although the idea of giving them any of my money would bother me. Hmmm… Life is rife with moral dilemmas like this. Sigh.
