Childhood special interests.

Some are still special interests.

Some are now casual interests.

Some I have completely moved on from.

I used to be weirdly obsessed with the Indian Subcontinent.

Didn't quite grow out of them. Just too tired for much else in life.

No. I was interested in Dinosaurs, Geography, Ancient History, Superheroes, Digimon and the 80's when I was a kid and I'm still interested in all of those things as an adult.

My special interests have died down, but it took a long time. I had to take a realistic look at human nature around my interests to sort of snap myself out of the idealism I had, towards that interest. My idealism had a naivety about human nature built into it.

I cycled through a few interests growing up. But they've always been extremely restricted, I almost exclusively like old Nintendo games, and lesser interests in windows 95/98, ducks, and bantam chickens, it stops there lol.

I didn't have special interests when I was a young child. Then when puberty hit I began getting obsessions with certain people, and in my teenage and younger adult years I'd obsess over whichever guy I had a crush on. Then when I met my partner I subconsciously stopped having obsessions.
Now I'm going through an obsession phase again, I've become fascinated by the 1800s and totally obsessed with a musician from then.

I don't consciously make myself get obsessed with someone, it just happens. I read though that it can be common for ADHDers to become obsessed over a crush and then it passes. I have had various crushes on different guys (not who I know in real life) but it just stayed at "normal interest" level. But this crush has become "intense obsession" level. I'm hoping it will pass soon, because it's making me feel more autistic than I pride myself to be.

I don't think I'll ever grow out of my special interests.

My childhood interest was in the form of comics. I kind of evolved it as I grew older into other art and literary works (I couldn't read as a child) and tried to turn it into my profession. I think I want to be over my intense interest, because it causes me a lot of anxiety, but somehow am unable to remove it from my life... I get other interests over time, some very long lasting still with me.

I don't really grow out of them but they change after a few years, so a few years ago I had a special interest in history but now I don't really care much for history now but I now have a special interest in computers.

My Childhood interests included rollerskating and square dancing and they have declined into nothing so I guess I just play the guitar and banjo and those are my only interstes other than posting here and TTL.

For my special intense interests growing up:

Roller Coasters -- Though I don't ride them anymore due to a neck and back problem, I still love them. I have a collection of old blueprints from the 1920s that I have collected as an adult. I am also working on an HO scale amusement park model with a wooden roller coaster built from a 1922 blueprint.

Music -- still very much into performing music.

House Plans -- I still collect blueprints.

Magic Tricks -- as an adult I have collected a bunch of stage illusions.

So for me, I haven't outgrown them.
