Yeah if I buy a game I expect to be able to install however many times I want. People have multiple computers, computers go bad, hard drives fail, etc. And you may want to replay it 10 years from now and the developer might not even be around anymore.

These anti-piracy tactics are just silly and end-up punishing honest paying customers - people always find a way around it anyway.

I have the game on my 360. It is AWESOME!! !!

(sorry for the caps)

<_<

>_>

I've beaten the game once. I'm playing through it again. It sucks that you all can't play it on your PC. I don't know much about the anti piracy stuff but from what I heard, 2K made a mess of it.

I think the voice acting is awesome and the plot great. Though the plot gets a BIT less awesome towards the middle/ end of the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if it wins game of the year. Either that or Halo 3. Halo 3 is awesome but it's just another generic sci-fi FPS. So I think Bioshock has a higher chance of winning game of the year.

I'll probably get flamed for saying that but oh well in my opinion it's true.

Now back to the original topic.

EDIT: Also, to me, Bioshock does have some creepy moments but it's not THAT scary to me. Fort Frolic was pretty creepy.

I'll probably end up getting the 360 version because of this, or maybe bite the bullet and get the Steam version, although I find Steam objectionable too (just not so much as the retail version's activation).

What's wrong with Steam?

The games you "buy" will become worthless if/when the service goes away (or if you lose internet access, or whatever). Plus unfortunately at least one game actually requires you to be connected to the internet the entire time you're playing (Lost Planet) with no offline mode. Still, it's a lot better than just having 5 activations! But I prefer to have games that I can pop in and play for sure at any point in the future.

Not as good as System Shock 2 [IMO].

Works ok with 1 gig of ram on my PC; I've got a 256mb 7900 GT, and it runs good at 1024x768 resolution (with everything on "high").

Yeah, it's not like having a CD or DVD that you can use to install the game. But Steam does have its advantages. As long as you have your Steam account, you'll never lose your copy of your game. As long as you have quick Internet, you can just go onto Steam at any time and have it installed in a matter of a few hours. Your copy is in a file server cloud somewhere on the Internet, never to be lost. And as Internet bandwidth speeds up, the installation process will be even quicker. Like I've heard in Japan, the average home broadband connection is something like 66 Mbps. You could download any game in minutes with a connection like that!

On a side note, my brother bought the game yesterday (Xbox360) and he wants me to come over to his place and check it out.

By the way, some of the Future people said they're basically certain this will come out for the Playstation 3, as Microsoft did pay for a "timed" exclusive.

I may end up getting it for a 360 if Toys R Us runs another one of those "buy 2 get 1 free" deals they do in the fall (I spend WAAAAAY too much money at those!)

I don't think it'd be as good on the Wii. I just don't think it's very good for ports.

The Wii wouldn't be able to handle it, simple as that. Its hardware requirements are too high for it.

Yeah, exactly. They could release something called "Bioshock" on the Wii, but it wouldn't remotely be the same game.

The game looks amazing, but my system specs are probably too antiquated to install the game, let alone run it. I do hope they'll release a PS3 version in the future, though.

The Next Generation folks think it will. It's been confirmed that Microsoft paid for a timed exclusive, so the odds are good it'll be coming to the Playstation 3 next year some time (wouldn't surprise me if it was for six months or something, as that would put it in February).

It is extremely well polished, has beautiful art deco graphics, awesome sound, and a truly immersive plot - Despite all of that, it is actually a fairly simplistic FPS/action RPG hybrid, that doesn't bring anything truly groundbreaking to the table; somehow it seems to deliver more than the some of it's parts. The second best game on the 360 to date though, imho.
