I want to. I'm FTM... but closeted and only experimenting with social aspects of transition at the moment. Dunno how I'll get away with taking HRT while in a religious community that's very against it.

It's relatively easy to get started in most places with informed consent or DIY, though some of the changes that come from testosterone might be harder to hide than estrogen. The deepening voice is the main one that'd be hard to hide, though you could say it's a side effect of another medication.

I've heard that microdosing might be an option?

Very delayed reply (though I've looked at it a few times and just forgot to come back to it, sorry!), but microdosing is an option for T if you want changes to go slowly. Unfortunately (for some), estrogen doesn't have the same ability - if you don't have enough of it and are taking a T blocker you'll just feel tired all of the time, and if you don't have a blocker and are on a low dose of E chances are the T will still dominate.

Anyway, 17-month update - sometimes I look pretty! Sometimes very much not so. Need to get other things done like hair removal and orchi (if I can somehow find a way to sneak a surgery in, even a rather minor one you can be home from the same day). I'm just tired of waiting things out. I also need to find a bra that fits me right...I can hide my chest sometimes, but there are some tops I just straight-up can't wear anymore because my nipples'll poke out.

Happy to say at this point that I don't regret HRT at all, and recommend anyone in a similar boat who might have similar feelings to go for it.
