Totally dreading having to apply for health insurance in November

On the other hand, thank Buddha. Last year, I wrote down the instructions on what I did to apply, so I don't have to think about it as much

Also my sister is available to help

Besides maybe the stupid lil girl supervisor Angela w will have the nerve to make my worthless corpse redundant tomorrow. And then I will have to report a change of income to my health insurance

but whatever. everyone is required to sign up for health insurance, for tax purposes. of course, not everyone does.

plenty of people don't know how to read or whatever and they still get health insurance.

today, wasted way too much time and energy on Health for California application, b/c it had a disclaimer that making false statements is "perjury" subject to a fine of $$$$ and jail. b/c i did not want to make a typo and then get sent to jail for perjury. (rolls eyes) (puke)

then it had some questions that i didn't know the answer to. phoned my sister. no answer. left message. she called back and said she didn't know the answer and "do your best". "do your best" sounds so beautiful but the vast majority of the time your "best" is not good enough for practical purposes.

finished applying for health insurance. maybe next week, they will email to tell me there's a problem with the insurance and i have to do 23 more things. (that's what they did last year).

the whole health insurance system royally messed up.

i am afraid that i will get sent to jail for perjury, or there will be a problem with the insurance and i end up uninsured and i have to purchase Kaiser insurance for $600 month or something ridiculous like that.

but whatever.

thank buddha i am already 42 years old.

that's old enough.

The letter from Covered CA said:

"If you don't act:
If you don't renew your health coverage by the renewal deadline, Covered CA will automatically reenroll you in the same or most similar health plan, as long as you are eligible. The automatic renewal process will begin after November 1. It's important to look at your options and make any necessary changes before that date to make sure your health coverage meets your needs."

That above paragraph sounds mutually exclusive to the below paragraph:

however, on the opposite side of the same page, it said
"Key renewal deadlines:
Nov 1 Renewing your current health plan?
Update your information and renew your health coverage by November 1."
________________________________________________________________________

But, uptight, edgy, and anxious that i am, i filled out the form and then submitted it on november 1.

I am so scared that they will tell me that there was a problem with the insurance and i need to do 17 more things. make phone calls and be on hold and get cross examined.

I get that feeling open enrollment always seems more annoying than it should be, even when you already know the steps. I started keeping a checklist too, and it really helped take the stress out of it. Having your sister around is a big plus, and most income-change updates are quicker than the actual application, so hopefully it won’t be as bad as you’re expecting. If you’re ever curious how policies compare elsewhere, https://premierpmi.co.uk/ has some straightforward examples. I found it useful just to understand how different systems lay out their options.

it is now friday and still haven't heard anything from Covered CA or Kaiser.

constantly scared precious lil "people" will have the nerve to make me jump through seventeen hoops.

just now, finished applying for health benefits (not "health insurance", "health benefits" from home depot: vision and dental.

it was just a couple pages of clicking. it was easy.

but still afraid that i made a mistake or that they will make a mistake and as a result of the mistake, will not get health insurance or health benefits.

it's almost too good to be true. i got kaiser health insurance and don't have to pay. $0.

i kept checking the kaiser portal, thinking it was a typo.

and i didn't have to phone anyone and ask them to "discontinue" (not "cancel"), by health insurance with them.

I am very thankful that I did not have to dial a phone number and tell someone that their company incorrectly estimate my income based on a non representative paycheck. Nor did I have to phone anyone and beg them to cancel my preexisting health insurance

Last year I had to do both of them

And I had to phone on my days off work. And be on hold half an hour

And et cetera

Today got a letter from the health insurance that said that they (not me, they) made a mistake and now I have to send more documents and if I don't do it by a certain date, my health insurance gets cancelled

As usual, when I do something bad or wrong I get a "punishment"

When idiots have the nerve to wrongfully accuse me, I get a punishment

Even when nobody is wrongfully accusing me, I still get a punishment

And a really large punishment too

"Logic could be used to justify anything"

last week i wrote a letter to the health insurnace and asked human resources to sign.

she had the nerve to tell me to upload my paycheck. i told her that even though my paycheck says "gross income", it does not say how i calculated the estimate of my 2025 income.

she said that they know it's just an estimate.

last week, uploaded my paycheck.

logged in just now. it says "under review".

constantly terrified health insurance will get cancelled due to "technicality", glitch, or misunderstanding and then i have to pay $500 out of pocket monthly for Kaiser.

(rolls eyes) (puke)

on sunday, i ordered prescription testosterone sent from kaiser to my pigpen.

the reason why i did that, was that i was afraid that if i sent the testosterone for pharmacy pickup, maybe i wouldn't've been able to go b/c i was @ work and then they would send it back.

so instead i put it on "delivery". which is even worse, b/c maybe they will refuse to leave it on my porch b/c i wasn't there to sign. and then it will go return to sender.

lost 7 vials of testosterone and forty bucks. but whatever. i have had plenty of much larger losses before.

i will get over it sooner or later.

besides, there is something wrong with every method of delivery. but plenty of patients have work and other commitments where they won't be able to sign for packages delivered to their houses. so whatever. and plenty of rodents don't have cars or whatever. the whole system doesn't make sense.

If you can't get to the pharmacy you may be able to call them and get them to hold it for a longer period than usual.
