I don't want to scare anyone but the budget recently passed by Trump is adding a work requirement to Medicaid of 20 hours a week for non-disabled people; some of the GOP are saying that it's only 20 hours a week for all able-bodied Americans citizens  Medicaid is a poverty program so having a work requirement seems very screwy since people can be cut off for earning too much. I don't have to worry too much about this right now for myself or my girlfriend since I'm on Social Security Disability & she's on SSI. I'm not sure how it would affect people in your position yet OP where someone has disabilities or issues which prevent them from finding any employment at all but they're not considered disabled by the Social Security Administration. Seems like it's up to each state to figure it all out. Hopefully there would be some kind of program to help the unemployed find jobs & allow the unemployed to keep their Medicaid as long as they're taking steps to try & find work like putting in apps as your doing. If there are any organizations in your area or state that could help disabled people such as yourself find employment, the possibility of you losing your Medicaid & having no income at all other than food-stamps or relying on family to afford any potential medical bills & prescriptions might could make your case a higher priority than those who are considered disabled by SSA. IDK if there's gonna be new work requirements to get food-stamps or not but if there's supposed to be that could also be used to make your case a higher priority.

I do put my autism on the applications when they specifically ask about it. I try not to mention my lack of social skills, but I'm fairly certain they're more than obvious to anybody that actually meets me.
I'm wondering what job apps ask about autism :? Are they places that tend to hire disabled people like non-profits :?: Some of the job apps I filled out did ask if I was disabled & I selected that I was when they asked but there were no follow-up questions about which types of disabilities I might have.

I asked them about this when I recently went in to do my renewal, actually. There's always been the work requirement for Food Stamps in my state, but they make exceptions if you have a "good reason" for not having a job. The fact that I can't drive has always qualified as a "good reason" and still will, according the the person that handled my renewal. The Medical work requirement will be new, but they said the same exceptions apply there too. Also, volunteer work is supposed to qualify towards those requirements as well, not just real paying jobs.

Basically all the applications I've filled out have asked. They aren't non-profits looking to hire disabled people, just normal everyday jobs like Wal*Mart. Anything around here that would be a non-profit also isn't a paying job, it's volunteer work. And, as I've mentioned before, I've got online volunteer work already but I need an actual paying job.
