I sometimes get horrible cramps; three times I had ovarian cysts-- those are pure torture until they explode. I tried Yasmin and I think it made me depressed. :( I guess I ought to always have some aspirin on me!

I tried Yasmin too, but I didn't like the side effects.

How the heck can you do that??

LOL
I tend to over react to everything and to cry alot. I'm majorly grumpy and I develop great hatred towards things and people that annoy me at the wrong time. I tend to keep it inside though... Thank god. Or else I would lose my friends.
Last month I disagreed with something my religion teacher said during class and was COMPLETELY convinced that I should be aetheist... for about a week.
I was completely serious too.

I told my doctor about them and he gave me lot of options of what pills I can take. He also offered me the shot so I took it since it stops your period he says but he said it can stop it because it's one of the side effects so I picked it.

I tried the shot once, I didn't get my period for a few months, but then I started getting it lightly for at least two months. It was disgusting! And very annoying, and hard on my sex life as I was in a LTR at the time. I hope you don't have the same trouble Spokane_girl. 8O

How was your sex life hard? Did it make you lack sex drives? And what's LTR?

I don't see how lacking periods and having them light is disgusting. :?

LTR=long term relationship. No, it didn't lower my sex drive, it just made things gross because I was having my period for two months straight--and although it wasn't heavy, it was "old" blood, if you get my drift.

I used to get cramps and sometimes headaches- the cramps where so bad I'd have a referred pain down my right leg :?

Someone told me about the Mooncup (Diva cup in US) and honestly? I love it. No more cramps, no more running out of ST's, no more resenting the £20 I spend a month on periods. And slightly fascinating in a strange kinda way...

Obviously not so good if you have certain sensory difficulties, of which I have some, but the benefits far outweigh the drawback and I only have to deal with it 3 times a day. Copable you could say!

I don't know if I get them as bad as other people, probably not; so it isn't as painful for me. Or maybe I'm just extra-resilient.

I get them in my lower back and I take some motrin and warm up a hot water bottle. It also helps for someone to do the karate chop massage motion in that area as well.

The nausea is another thing.

If you're getting such severe cramps that you're in agony or need to take a painkiller, then there's something wrong.

Either you've got endo or something similar, or there's something lacking your diet.

The main culprits are magnesium - the very, very vast majority of women are magnesium deficient. Take a supplement and cramps generally disappear (or alter your diet, even better...).

Another one is essential fatty acids. Evening Primrose Oil capsules taken throughout the cycle can often help massively, and also reduce PMS.

Omega 3 is another key one - most people have plenty of Omega 6 in their diet, but not enough Omega 3. The ideal ratio is 1:1 of 3 to 6, but in most people it's something like 1:20 or 1:30. Krill or Cod Liver Oil are both good supplements.

I used to suffer badly, but since I started supplementing all of those and I changed my diet to zero processed junk food (occasionally I might have one sweet, like once a week, but that's it), plenty of fruit and veges (organic only), and not much red meat - fish once a week - they've gone from being so crippling I'd have to stay home from work for a day, to non-existant, and no PMS.

Cramps are your body telling you to sort yourself out, not put a band-aid on!

Completely agree with LeKiwi- and I omitted from my last post that many ST's and tampons have chemical bleaches and pesticide in them (leftover from the agricultural process) which can irritate your uterus and cervix.

Definitely. You can get organic, natural ones without any bleaching... they may not look as pretty (but seriously, they aren't going to look pretty after a few hours anyway so who really cares?) but if they work then does it matter? There are other alternatives like the MoonCup as well. I've not tried it though I have one on order so we'll see what happens before I make a recommendation, but I've heard really good reviews...
