I see why women wouldn't donate.

[quote="Pandora
The misogyny shown by some posters really annoys, disappoints, and sickens me. I realise it is much harder for the guys to find partners but it's not fair to blame all of us women for this situation.

I notice this enduring legend that the reason a guy can't get laid is all the woman's fault didn't originate with Aspies, just part of the male mind set.
The corollary is "women can get laid anytime, but a man can't" which we all know is just not so.

Hmm.... I've not noticed this anti-woman vibe that some have talked about. I have definitely noted a more utilitarian leaning among members here, both male and female, but I believe it is due to the AS tendency to blurt things out. It's not that I haven't noticed the odd misogynist here and there, but there are so many nice people, too. Speaking as a woman, I would like to see more people standing up to some of the more disturbing views that are sometimes posted... but that's up to all of us, not Alex.

you mean, I could actually point out to some of those people, how I have a differing opinion? I wouldn't have to impugn their intelligence or their ancestry in doing so, but the offence they offer isn't so much in the concepts they hold dear, but the labeling of 'femaledog' or 'femi-archaictotalitariandictatorship' reference. When once I told them I had been called a feminatzi before Rush made it a household word, I got swiftly shut down by the whole thread. At some point I retired from the fray and lived a less stressful life.

>_< I can identify with that.

We should gang up on them. :wink:

I'm only half kidding. I noticed that Pandora called another poster on his use of the word "b***h" the other day. I should have done so myself. If it happens again, I sure will. The tough thing is that then they want to label the one who speaks up as a prude (thereby brushing off your concern) and sometimes there's nobody around to back you up! That's not as big of a deal for me when it's something very decidedly against the ToS, but when it's just a matter of opinions or more subtle attacks, having company is good.

Well, I came close to giving up on Wrongplanet altogether a while ago as I was getting so much shite put on me for calling various people on comments they made. Fortunately there has been some support but I think there has to be some from the top as well.
