I've been taking a homeopathic anti-depressant for a week with remarkable success. My bouts of depression have gone down from 2-4 hours to 5-10 minutes. My doctor is confident my depression will completely disappear in 3-7 days! I recommend homeopathy... It's a slow cure which initially makes the problem worse, but with permanent positive results. Trust me, and don't believe those criticising the medical practice. Trial and error is the best judge.

Maybe you should talk to your doctor about something sedative like xanax or valium. Although i've never been prescribed them, the times i've taken them they took off the edge of it and made me more content, both with my situation and socially as far as inhibitions go. The only thing about that is you can't drive after taking either.

I've taken Valium before.
The doctor who prescribed it to me gave me 10 tablets and said that it was all she could give me because of the risk of addiction.
I didn't really notice any effects from it. Maybe it was because I only took it for 10 days, or maybe it just doesn't work for me. :?

try out another medication and see if that works. There many anti depressants where it would be ok for a person to up theri dose beyond 20 mg's

I've recently gone through this recently and still do to less severe extents. What was happening to me was all of my sadness and anger that I had held back for years was finally starting to force their way out at once. That is why I urge everyone: let your emotions out when they come, don't bottle them up like I did. I let it all out finally and I turned out okay but I could have lost it and done something to myself or someone else. I still feel down at times but I have someone that helps me get through it and I do the same for them.

I done the same thing. I put away all of the bad memories, and was in denial about myself and my life for many years. Then after my breakup with my ex, all of the walls I put up...completely fell down. I have been sad and depressed ever since then. Things are slowly getting better, but while I take two steps forward, something always happens and I end up taking a step backwards.

I agree with you on this, don't bottle things up, and deal with the problems as they come. For the majority of people, it's definitely unhealthy.

Well i'm hopefully getting some counselling soon. I think that it will be good.
Although it costs more than $50 (NZ) per hourly session, so I'm going to have to figure out a way to get the money. It's a total rip-off.

I personally don't believe in counseling. Counselors don't know you personally so they can't genuinely feel for you. The best way (if possibly for you) is to try and meet a friend/mate who can relate to you. Try to find someone who has been through all the same crap you have been through. Finding someone who you can relate to is often a cure for many people. I've unfortunately only met people who I truly relate to online. I'm still waiting to meet a person that I can relate to in the flesh....

When I took them I found that they didn't make me feel much different either. They merely enhance the body’s response to its own naturally produced GABA. GABA is part of the “fight or flight” response system. It acts to inhibit central nervous system arousal during stress. I found the pills didn’t have any effect on me except for reducing situational-type anxiety. They did nothing for my depression or generalized anxiety.

Also, Xanax and Valium are usually prescribed to be taken "as needed" rather than as a daily dose. They're very good for coping with severe anxiety in specific circumstances, but taking them every day is just asking to become dependent.
