That's a cat joke. :D

No whiskers, but I often wake up with small scratches on me. I figure they're just trying to give me street cred.

I can't imagine ever being w/o a non human companion. Currently, I have 4 cats, 1 dog and 2 rats and 1 husband (I think he's an aspie, too. Between the two of us, we say about 30 words to each other per day  . I always say I was raised by a cat, from ages 6 to 22.

My ex (another aspie, I think) and I had at one point 17 cats (most rescues) and 2 dogs. We later got into dog rescue. LOL, he replaced me with a whippet when I left after we divorced amicably.

I'd suspect that many aspies/NTs would have animals since to me they are easier to relate to than humans.

I have a basset hound mix named Underdog, I adore him, I would be nothing without him. He gives me someone to love and cuddle with in ways that having a boyfriend can't compare. He has a huge heart, and gah it's hard to explain but I just love him unconditionally.

 I do believe Eggman that you have given the perfect excuse for me to give to my landlord for why I should be allowed to have a pet.

Granted, I haven’t seen any pests in my apartment… :chin:

I have a beautiful cat called Polly . She is 8 yrs old and very antisocial , a bit like me , but unlike me she used to pee in inappropriate places around the house if she got stressed !

I bought her as a 12 week old kitten and for the first 3 months that she was living with me she was mute and never made a sound . As she learned to trust me she began to "talk." She sounds like an old creaky door when she miaows !

I love her to bits but there has been times when I have been tempted to rehome her when the peeing got me down but as the Cats Protection League told me that no one would want a cat like that and I have kept her and persevered as I do feel ultimately responsible for her. So far she has been dry for 18 months.

Have you had her tested for urine tract disease, this peeing inappropriately is the main sign of this - it can be fixed with a special diet and anti-biotics for any secondary infection, this pain may also make her crumpy. I have a cat with this problem as does my mum both were diagnosed after peeing all over the place, stress can make triger the problem.

I have a cat called lemur she is rather cuddly a tad overweight and some, she has been a bit under the weather with a bacterial bladder infection is getting much better, she is my alarm clock too wakes me up and cries for me to go to bed when I stay up to late. She is on a weight control diet and on medication for joint problems. Her vet called her a giant bumble bea and said you don't often get cats like her; we don't like him! I am also overweight so I take objection to his remarks.

I have a miniature schnauzer but I don't recommend the breed! It's a very sickly breed and my dog has been a sickly dog since he was 1 year old. Ranging from bladder stones to pancreatitis, now to diabetes.. it can get very stressful, not to mention expensive even with pet insurance. All of these illnesses are common with these dogs and sure enough my dog has had pretty much all of the illnesses that schnauzers are known to have.

My Jinxie cat is my best buddy. He really knows how to brighten up any rough day. He will snuggle up with me when I am sleeping or lay on my computer desk next to the monitor while I am working and nap there. I f I don't pay him attention he taps my shoulder, and then starts with the "love" bites, not hard enough to hurt or break the skin. Anyways, I don't know what I would do without the little guy. I would say he is more loyal than most people I know.

the guy i live with is convinced that my cat Sagira and i have some kind of psychic connection.

when i get upset, she gets upset. if he pets the cat, i calm down.

she always knows when i am sad or angry and she will come and settle her warm little weight on my chest and calm me down.

Sarah and Chelsea are my two calico cats whom I love dearly and have had for about 4 years now. They never vomit because I keep their food and water bowls clean and brush them from time to time.
