I was pretty much brought up by a SNES! Whenever my aunty 'babysat' me and my brother, I would dissapear into her conservatory and play Super Mario world, Unirally and much more! You wouldn't see me until it was time to go! I also like the Sega Mega drive but that wasn't one of the options.

Honestly, I'd have to say the DS. While it's tempting to say N64, because I just love the thing so much, and Super Mario 64 was the first game I ever played, the DS has given me numerous unique experiences and offers a wide range of games for all sorts of people.

Between amazingly fresh new experiences (ex. Trauma Center, Ace Attorney, The World Ends with You), the ability to play GBA games, amazing remakes of classic games that absolutely break the boundaries of what I thought was possible on hand-helds less than 5 years ago (ex. Super Mario 64DS, Final Fantasy IV, Fire Emblem: New Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light), and just a flat-out amazing library of games, I can't honestly say I've ever been truly bored with my DS.

Add to that the flawed, but still very fun online play that's become prevalent in nearly all new DS titles, and it's expanded audience appeal with games like Nintendogs, Brain Age, and CrossworDS (ignore the fact that the Touch Generations line has given birth to a new era of shovelware) and you've got an amazing experience right in your hands. Back when the GBA was released, I didn't expect anything close to this in it's successor.

Did I mention how sleek the system is and the wide variety of colors and designs it's available in? I love my Limited Edition Onyx colored Pokemon DS Lite.

It's known as the Sega Genesis in the US, which is on the poll.

great platformers (Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Metroid, Mega Man X, Donkey Kong Country, Castlevania IV)
great beat-em up's (Turtles in Time, Final Fight, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs)
great flight sims (Pilotwings, Star Fox)

PS1, because it's one of the most important consoles of all time.

I grew up on SNES but love Xbox cause it can be modded to run linux. SNES ruled 90's video gaming. It had super mario world 1 and 2, zelda a link to the past, CHRONO TRIGGER (the GREATEST RPG of ALL time), super metroid, and super mario kart. Those were the days. Video games now have graphics that make old video games have cheesy graphics, I'll play Flight Simulator X on my Vista PC once in a while, the graphics in that are so realistic it's like you are flying. But, we'll all remember the consoles we grew up on.

Other: Nintendo 64.

It's where I peaked in game obsession. It will always hold a place in my heart and life.

I voted "other", for the very old Intelevision system. I have fond memories there. The plastic under the round disks are all tore up, so I can't play it anymore. darn it..

The Megadrive as that is what I grew up with. Holds many fond memories.

Have to say the DS is getting there though. Awesome piece of kit.

Unfortunately, they got the innovation completely wrong... I demoed the Wii once at a store (Wii bowling was on it at the time) and I felt like I had whiplash when I was done with it... If I ever get a Wii (probably for ssbb), I'm also getting the classic controller and a gamecube controller so I can actually play the games

you know you don't have to throw it too hard to get it going do you? it helps certainly, but you only need rudimentary motions to get the Wiimote to work.

I grew up with the MegaDrive, Sega Saturn, Sega Saturn 2, GX4000 - Cartridge based games. I laugh when people say SNES and NES are the same thing :chin:

I loved the Dreamcast. If I could go back in time I'd again. It was best of last generation.
