Oldschool to me is anything that's five years or older...with today's "here today, GameStop tomorrow" attitude, it's not hard to be oldschool.

Nope, just checked and the cable I have for my SNES is definitely component, with three inputs for video and two for audio.

Probably RGB (which is different from component).

Oh, old school NES all the way! I loved playing the Zelda games and SMB 3!

Though 2 years ago, I sadly elected to finally get rid of my (originally the whole family's) NES, which was like 21 years old, because it was so battered and couldn't read cartridges as easily. I mean, I know it was just a machine, but looking back, it felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend... :(

But oh well, there's always emulators. :)

I grew up with the SNES and the "Nintendo" 64, so I love playing these games:

SNES: "Super Mario World", "Super Mario Bros. 2", "Super Mario Bros. 3", "Yoshi's Island", "Donkey Kong Country", "Donkey Kong Country 2", "Donkey Kong Country 3", etc. (Or playing any of these games on the GameBoy SP or Nintendo DS on the remade cartridges.)

Nintendo 64: "Super Mario 64", (Or the remake on the Nintendo DS, Super Mario 64 DS) "Yoshi's Story", "Donkey Kong 64", "Pokemon Stadium", "Pokemon Stadium 2", "Pokemon Puzzle League", "Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards", "Glover", "Rat Attack!", "Tom and Jerry" for the Nintendo 64, etc.

I voted for the SNES and Nintendo 64, but I also like the GameBoy and the GameBoy SP to play the "Mario" and "Yoshi" game remakes, "Kirby" games, old "Pokemon games", etc.

If you want real "old school," you need to play some Atari 2600 games (I had Berzerk, Asteroids, Donkey Kong, Keystone Kapers, and a whole bunch of other games--even the much-hated Pac-Man port :x ). I guess I have to put it in the words of Coach Z (from homestarrunner.com): "I'm so old school, they tore the school down."
