To be honest I'm considering quitting after my subscription runs out, especially after the joke that 3.0.2 patch day has been. The whole of the EU Misery Battlegroup, of about a dozen servers and maybe over 10,000 players has been offline for most of the day, with no explaination or apology from Blizzard.
It seems they're one of those companys that try to pretend things aren't going wrong, so they don't get bad PR.

You don't get a sense of just how difficult it is to run these patch days until you work in the software industry. My company only services about 300 clients but on upgrade days, the entire team works an 18 hour day.
In the '80s, I was in the Air Force, programming the computers at SAC HQ. Three to four times a year, the nuclear plan would be revised, often changing the way the data was organized. We pulled 24-hour shifts checking to make sure all the software still worked, and fixing it when it didn't. And we only had to work in English (and COBOL, and a few antique FORTRAN modules...). And we'd have to explain to the officers, few of whom knew a byte from a quick snack, what exactly the problem was, and why they couldn't rely on the results of the missile deconfliction program just yet...
I have complete sympathy for the programmers at Blizzard.
