I believe Mario 64 is availiable from the Wii's virtual console market place and is compatible with the classic control. Hardly a remake but it exists.

I'm pretty sure the DS remake is the only remake we're going to see for a long time. Sometimes you just have to accept games the way they are, not everything needs shiny new graphics to be better...case in point, see the Conker remake for XBox :x

Though I will admit, the original Mario 64 did have some pretty ugly graphics @_@ DS version looks 100 times better.

I have played both, and for graphics and characters, DS is the way to go, and for the retro rush of Mario's first 3D game, 64 is the way to go.
As for Nintendo's E-address...what department, who, and on another matter, there are multiple Nintendos. Japan, Americas, Europe, Australia, and I think that would be all.
For 2D games mad when I was...oh, about three or less...give or take, upon discovering them, 3 is best by far. In my opinion.

the DS version has better graphics, added content, and cool minigames, but I cannot stand the controls.

I think the controls are just fine, but I could never get the hang of using the touch-screen instead of the d-pad.

I still play Super Mario 64, almost everyday, on my Nintendo 64.

I used to and still do kick ass at it.

The control's are fine. The graphics are beautiful. It's not realism. It's retro 64 jagged polygons with vibrant colors and rainbows. If you aren't charmed at least a little, you're not a real gamer.

My best time on the secret slide is I think 16'3.

Sometimes when I'm bored I beat the game with 16 stars in 30-45 minutes, using a few glitches.

I just recently got all 120 stars for the millionth time.

And as much as I hate the kiddies that are taking control of the directions Nintendo is going nowadays, Super Mario Galaxy is a great game and finally a worthy follower to SM64 (unlike Sunshine).
