Yeah that whole "it's EMO" thing annoys me. One of my favorite bands, Simple Plan, gets labelled emo and they are definately not. To me they sound more like a few of my other favorite bands like Blink 182 or Green day which are both Pop Punk

I guess you could say I like "soft rock that really rocks" :P Sounds like an oxymoron, I know, so please let me explain by breakin' it down, from start to finish:

folk-rock (Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Rubber Soul era Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake)
punk/new wave (The Police, The Pretenders, Talking Heads, early U2, Elvis Costello)
late '80s/'90s alt-rock (later U2, R.E.M., Gin Blossoms, Pearl Jam, Oasis, Radiohead, Barenaked Ladies, Counting Crows)
'00s indie (The White Stripes, Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol, Wilco, Death Cab for Cutie, Spoon, The Killers)

and that's just the TIP of the iceberg!! There's sooooo much more!! ! :D :D :D

I dunno about that one... I pretty much exclusively listen to one band and don't accept 75% of musical genres. Shame on me. :(

I have extremely boring taste in music, however, my friend, who also has AS, likes all different kinds of music. Everything from Ke$ha to Aerosmith to Dawes. I envy her.

90% of the time I listen to video game OST's.

The other 10% are filled with every kind of music, be it jazz, rap, black metal or cabaret.

The one with sounds in it. Genre? Many. Instruments? All of them, when played by someone who does interesting things with them. And I love to hear singing voices, especially when I do not understand the lyrics.
