It's nothing special, and Bazza reckons it may only recognise Aussie IPs....

here is a copy of the one that appears on the top of the screen. When its on the left (as a column) you see abit more.

I find it really annoying, I think its the guy's dopey grin I hate most.

That's the most disturbing thing I've seen all day.

I've seen more disturbing things in Red Bull ads and forensic science texts...

One word: Patau Syndrome.

I'd better not look at it then - I don't want nightmares.

Sorry - browser froze in middle of post, I guess.

Let's just say odds are you'll die before one if you have Patau's.

Only five cases made it to five.

I believe I have seen worse than that, and I think I have seen a picture of an infant with Patau's before, in an old medical genetics book.

And that's two words, four syllables.

I heard the most god-awful joke about trisomies though in a book. A kid named his dog (this was fictional) 'Syndrome'. As in 'Down, Syndrome'.

There are at least three pictures I can mention that I find worse than that. In Keith Simpson's 1948 edition of Forensic Medicine, there's one nasty picture of a body in a rather disturbing state of putrefication (it was the gas build-up, I believe, that led him to that current state), and another of a man who used a shotgun in his mouth. A third (Introduction to Forensic Science)had someone in a DVI incident. The only thing recognisable as a face was its mouth, and that's not a good thing.

Oh, and the remains of someone who underwent literal explosive decompression in a hyperbaric chamber on an oil rig. THAT was nasty.

So while there are many things that would disturb me still, I have seen many things more disturbing than Patau Syndrome, and I do not wish to add to that list. Savvy?

Well, for an Aspie website, it's kind of ironic that there are these animated (i.e. VERY distracting for Aspies) ads on the left margin all the time. It's so distracting to me that I resize my browser, and scroll over to right so I don't have to keep seeing wild animation jumping around every where. But, I understand if it's absolutely necessary to have those kinds of ads to support this great website.

My close up vision is starting to get bad so I love to use Opera where I can scale
pages to various sizes. I do what you said but not to block the adds but to make the
forum as large as possible.

As for as animated ads driving aspie crazy. Yes that seems to be a common problem but it maybe also that and equal number may in fact enjoy the pulsing movements. Like some people on the spectrum love to look at moving objects like fans.
