Or maybe try to have a lucid dream in which you can get an idea for a fic - once I dreamed the WHOLE idea for a horror novel - from the very beginning to the very end Let alone many ideas for short stories - also horror ones.

I can't wait to finally get my "Lost" fic chapters done by me beta - and my one-shot "Lost" fic as well.

A few chapters back, I thought I was starting "the second half of Act 1". (I say "chapters," but they're tiny.) Since then....

...the number of chapters it'll take to get through the plot without rushing it is steadily increasing. Plus, some major characters are going to be offstage for way too long, so I need to find things for them to do. Plus, I plugged a gap in the story with a new idea for an action scene. Plus, that action scene means I kind of have to bring forwards a flashback sequence I was going to leave 'til much later in the story. Plus, the flashback sequence is also getting longer....

So, it's more like "the last three quarters of Act 1." Gives me hope I may someday manage to write a novel - I'd just have to start a short story!

The owners of FFN have finaly taken action against all the spambots. At one point, my blocklist was up to around 730 accounts, mostly spammers with a few trolls. All but 11 of those accounts got deleted in the first half of this month, and new scammers are getting squashed so fast I don't even have a chance to report them. Two out of the three most persistant trolls are also out for the count, though the 3rd keeps making new accounts. They're also promising a site rebuild in the near future: apparently, the new version is being beta tested right now.

That's GREAT news I was already so fed up with all those trolls/spambots/whatever

P.S. I'm into the Terminator universe as well as of now so I hit upon an idea for a story about an evil human collaborator with Skynet who was awarded by it for his cooperation with it When I have already written the fic, I'll only need to find a beta and then I'll post my story

As of now, I'm writing the third chapter out of the six I have planned to write.

I've created some fan art and fiction of cartoons and video games , but I don't think I'm very good at it because I mainly stay true to the way the characters and the "world" they're in originally, keep the content to a PG rating and don't creepily fetishize anything.

Aye, my stories don't have enough incest, cannibalism or incestuous cannibalism to float to the top of AO3....

Mine don't have those either But at least one of my stories did have a Mpreg in Though it was not the major topic of this story by any means.

Same here. I've written fanfiction and drawn fanart, though I've been more focused on my original stuff lately, and I also try to stick close to canon. For the most part I end up writing fanfiction because while I'm watching or reading something my brain runs away with theories and questions about the plot or setting, so I end up writing what I think the answers might be. I try to maintain a T rating, though it's more to be on the safe side due to any "canon typical violence" or swearing. I don't write romance and if relationships are included at all they're very much a background element and never the main focus. You'll never find sex in anything I write. I try to keep the characters in character. I also try to avoid weird AUs, crossovers or anything that diverges too much from canon. Despite all that, I've had quite a few stories that were really popular.
When I'm looking for fanfiction to read I also tend to look for the same sort of stuff. AO3's search is really helpful since I can exclude anything E rated, crossovers and any tags I specifically don't want.

Are there any other fanfiction writers out there?
