Australia's worst mass shooting since '96 at Hanukkah event
A week after the Bondi shooting the pro-Palestine folks are back shouting intafada chants against Israel

Of course, they just starve and execute their own people which is somehow overlooked by the useful idiots in the West who support them.
Remind me, where do you see thousands of westerners marching around, shouting cheers of support for Putin, draped in a hammer and sickle and carrying Marx's Das Kapital?
Try Reddit or Quora. I'm serious.
thousands? maybe one dude on a university campus handing out socialist flyers in a vain attempt to impress some social activist chick.
Not trying to be rude here but you really truly are naive if you don't think the internet is now full of tankies, 'useful idiots', and bots everywhere who have hijacked the leftist talking circles to spread their own propaganda that's eroding the morale of Western Civilization.
I don't disagree, but "wokies" don't get radicalised like racists or Islamic extremists and go shoot up a school or synagogue...

Antisemitic incidents in Australia rose by 600% in days following Bondi Beach massacre
According to the data, in the two days following the mass shooting, there was a sharp spike in expressions of hatred against Jews, alongside physical and verbal violence in public.
Before the terror attack, there were approximately 3,000 posts containing mentions of antisemitism published per day in Australia. However, on the day of the attack, this rose to 17,100, representing an increase of 420%, peaking the following day with over 21,500 posts, illustrating an increase of 600%.
Even after social platform moderating procedures removed some of the posts, the amount of hostile antisemitic discourse remained five times higher than the routine average seen before the massacre.
Data was collected using a continuous monitoring system that identified terms clearly associated with antisemitic rhetoric, including slurs such as "Jewboy" and Holocaust denial terms, while filtering out neutral mentions.
The Diaspora Affairs Ministry emphasized that the wave of online hatred did not remain confined to the digital sphere, but rather, was accompanied by verbal attacks in person against Jewish students, and damage to property, which created a sense of threat within the local community.
Against the backdrop of these findings, the ministry announced that it is working in cooperation with Australia's Jewish community and other Israeli government ministries to issue alerts and provide support to educational and community institutions.

Perhaps some of them do and it simply goes underreported?
a) permitting almost weekly protests by pro-Palestinian mobs numbering in thousands including pro-Jihadists
b) caving in to recognition demands by HAMAS
c) enabling sanctions on Israel
Why should we care what Albanese has been accused of when these accusations come from Zionist fanatics?
The fact of the matter is that Australia has one of the most pro-Israel regimes on earth. Australia’s sanctions against Israel, and Australia’s recognition of Palestine, are just token gestures.
And your implication that the Australian government should crack down on people protesting against a genocide is totalitarian in the extreme. The fact that you refer to these people as “mobs” clearly demonstrates where your biases lie.

Regarding the “antisemitic attacks” in Australia in the year prior to the Bondi Beach attack, see the following:
Oscar Grenfell
10 March 2025
World Socialist Website
https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/0 ... v-m11.html
At a press conference yesterday, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) announced that a purported wave of “antisemitic attacks” in Sydney between November and January had nothing to do with racial or religious hatred, but was perpetrated by a group of criminals seeking to barter with the police and to divert attention from other illegal activities.
So if I (basically your average Joe) can connect the dots does it really seem unreasonable for members of Australia's Jewish community to have lost confidence in Albanese and blame him for creating an environment hostile for Australians of Jewish background?
Yes, it is unreasonable, but it’s what I’ve come to expect from Zionist fanatics.
Firstly, Naveed Akram had been on the ASIO watch-list since 2019, so any suggestion that he was radicalised by the post-2023 Gaza protests is bogus.
Secondly, one of the reasons ASIO became too stretched to continue monitoring Akram properly was that, post-2023, Australian Zionists pressured ASIO to waste their time monitoring large numbers of peaceful pro-Palestine protestors.
Thirdly, the implication that the Australian government should have, over these past two years, somehow cracked down on people protesting against a genocide is disgusting.
Fourthly, why should Australian Jews have more government time and resources devoted specifically to protecting them rather than protecting Australians as a whole – especially since policies that would help to protect Australians as a whole, such as stricter immigration laws, generally don’t receive Australian Jewish support?
Fifthly, Australia actually already has one of the most pro-Zionist regimes on earth, but it seems like it’s never enough for some people.
Interestingly a coalition of conservative and jewish groups are calling for a royal commission into whether the current
government has enabled the rise in antisemitic attacks

Peaceful protest is completely legal. But harbouring pro-HAMAS individuals under the cover of chants calling for "the river to the sea" and hoisting images of known terrorists knowing police can't stop a screaming crowd of several thousand from protecting these individuals.
The fact of the matter is that Australia has one of the most pro-Israel regimes on earth. Australia’s sanctions against Israel, and Australia’s recognition of Palestine, are just token gestures.
I'm afraid you have missed the purpose of this thread. Australian jews (in Australia) are the ones dealing with antisemitism and are living (yes lived experience) with fear and anxiety.

You are most welcome to fly down from the UK and walk into a Jewish memorial service in Sydney and tell the families of the victims your "erudite" thoughts.

IMHO the Bondi Beach attack would have happened even if October 7th and the ensuing events had not happened. ISIS and anti zionist and related anti Jewish terrorism long predates October 7th.
That does not mean Jewish concerns about the non action by the Australian government is invalid. Apparently actions that went beyond free speech to criminality were often dealt in a way that that did not discourage if not encouraged further protest escalation.
When the hoax of criminals using antisemitism for their own ends was revealed I have to wonder if the authorities thought to themselves something like “Aha, those genocide enabling privileged Jews hyping antisemitism have been exposed”. The right way of looking at the hoax is that the hoaxers believed that faking an antisemitic terrorist attack was a great way to deflect attention.

Jewish Donors Help Raise $1.3m for Ahmed Al Ahmed, the Muslim Man Who Disarmed a Bondi Beach Attacker
Ackman gave $66,000 to the GoFundMe for al Ahmed and promoted the campaign to his followers, tweeting, “This is the verified link for the Bondi hero.”
In a viral video on Sunday, shortly after the attack on Bondi Beach that left 15 killed and over 40 injured, al Ahmed, 43, can be seen crouching behind a car before jumping into action as one of the terrorists shoots a firearm at the Jewish celebration. Al Ahmed, a Syrian-born father of two who was unarmed, then jumped on the attacker from behind, wresting the firearm from his hands.
“In a moment of chaos and danger, he stepped forward without hesitation,” the sponsors of the GoFundMe, Car Hub Australia, wrote on the page. “His actions were selfless, instinctive, and undeniably heroic, taken without regard for his own safety. Early reports indicate he was shot twice in the process while protecting others.”
As al Ahmed’s heroic actions were shared widely on social media on Sunday, he garnered praise from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
As al Ahmed recovered from his injuries in a hospital on Monday, he was visited by Chris Minns, the premier of New South Wales, the Australian state that includes Sydney.
Praise also poured in on social media from Jewish leaders in the United States, including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders.
“Ahmed al Ahmed, a Muslim father of two, risked his life to disarm a murderer who was shooting down Jews celebrating Hanukkah in Sydney,” wrote Sanders in a post on X. “Religion must not divide our common humanity. We must stand together and end antisemitism, Islamophobia and all hate — no exceptions.”
For others, al Ahmed’s act of bravery during the massacre appeared to be divine intervention — coming as it did at a time when many Jews feel isolated and abandoned by their non-Jewish allies.
“I’ve been thinking about this man Ahmed and his selfless act of courage, and I can’t help but feel that it as an act of God,” wrote Jewish social media influencer Alana Zeitchik in a post on Instagram. “It is a message that could only have been written by something higher than all of us. Like all actions it has a ripple effect. In this moment of immense grief and fear, his actions repair a painful tear in the collective Jewish soul that so badly needed to be tended to.”
She continued, “He will be cherished and spoken about by our people for generations.”
Among the 34,000 donors to the GoFundMe campaign so far are several who said in notes that they were Jewish and explained why they donated unusual sums, in multiples of $18.
“Ahmed, you are a true hero. As a Jewish supporter, I donated $180 USD because 18 (“chai”) represents life. Your courage embodied that meaning in the most profound way,” wrote Craig Gross. “Thank you for what you did, and may you heal fully and quickly.”
