Conservative policies seem to lead to places being much worse to live in, as though they're innately destructive to the building and maintaining of societies.
I have a friend who moved to Texas. She tells me that she hates it, so she doesn't see much nuance. However, she's stuck because she met a partner who has a child from a previous marriage with shared custody.
And as someone who lived in Oklahoma for the first three decades of my life, I can hardly find nuance with living in Oklahoma. I miss some of the food and friends/family. It stops there.
My new state isn't perfect... but at least those imperfections don't have to do with religious interference in my life taking away my freedoms and reproductive healthcare, and at least it doesn't have to do with low quality of living, healthcare, not being safe, etc.
