Do not worry about what other people think about your attachment to your cat... it fills a void that just doesn't get filled otherwise in many cases. Very few people seemed to understand when my cat Cyrano died a few years ago. I had had many cats die when I was growing up (on a farm) and I was always upset, but his death hit me worst of all. He was my only friend at my first apartment living on my own, and I was so miserable and alone that I don't know what I would have done without him. He was a lot more comforting and understanding than any of the people around me, and he used to sleep on my chest every night. He was always kind of sickly and died of leukemia when he was only a year old, and I was absolutely devastated. He died in the middle of the night... I'll never forget the image of his last moments, fighting for life. I woke my neighbor up, in tears, and told her what happened, and cried and cried. She gave me some cartoons and I distracted myself with them for the rest of the night, in misery... and I still had to go to work the next day. Nobody seemed to understand how he could have that much impact on me. I have two more cats now and I don't think I could ever live without cats around. Whenever they have gotten outside I am terrified that something has happened to one of them... but so far, no disasters.

well after a while i finally have another update on kirby.

he is doing so much better in fact i'd say he is pretty much back to normal he has a tough time eating dry food though. he doesn't seem to walk with a limp that i can see and he even played with cocoa a little bit.

to grendel

i was attached to my cat tim the same way he was like my little buddy it still hurts to think about him even today.

Thanks for the update. I was just wondering recently how he was doing. I'm so glad he's so much better and maybe his eating problem will get better with time.

yeah he's seems to be swallowing the dry food whole he is trying to chew but i think his teeth were dulled a little when they broke, the vet did say there was a problem with his teeth. but he seems to be able to eat can food just fine he's just really picky when it comes to his food though.

Maybe a gradual switch from canned to dry would work?

My cat has been very sick and is at the vet. They don't think he is going to make it. I know that doesn't sound like a big problem to a lot of people, but my four cats are my best friends and this one is the most special. I didn't even realize what a comfort he's been to me. And he is such a nice cat that even my daughter who hates cats with a passion is fond of him. Is it stupid for a cat to be such an important part of a person's life?
No.

It's a good thing. It shows you love your cat. It's very sweet. :)

Maybe as he uses his jaw he will get used to chewing again. He must be a remarkable cat and I can tell you love him. I bet he's happy these days.

yeah he is amazing sometimes, just the fact that he managed to survive when the other cats didn't is unbelieveable.

yeah he is happy just like he was before it didn't seem that his personality changed at all which is good.

yeah it will most likely take time for kirby's jaw to get back to normal.

Well that's great that he's not traumatized by what he went through. He does sound special. Is he continuing to be an indoor cat, and if so, does he seem to like staying in okay?

I worry about my Wittle Wheaten, all the time. I do everything that I can do to keep him healthy. I take him on long walks. I spend time with him and show that I love him. I keep his Teeth clean. I also feed him premium Dog Food. I just don't want anything bad to happen to my Little Chico.

I think it would be a wonderful idea to have a Pets Forum. How do you start a forum?

sorry i didn't answer you very quickly was playing and capturing vids from drakengard. yeah i finally have 1 now before i just had 2 i still have yet to see caim get his eye stabbed out by some evil little child, not untill i saw manah and marly i didn't think flowers could be used in a bad way.

anyway he does sit in front of the door every once in a whilebut he gets the idea that he is never going out again.

i'm thinking that the whole event was so terrible and he went through so much pain and trama that his mind might have forgotten the attack, it happened once to a girl who was in a house that was robbed it was on unsolved mysteries once.

I'm glad he's settling in to being indoors. It's a rough world out there for cats and Aspies alike.

This is a poem i found about older cats i want to share with you fellow cat lovers

Although I am too proud to beg, and may appear to be a very independent creature, I ask for your loving care and attention. I rely on you for my well being much more than you may realize.

This I promise you, my benefactor, that I will not be a burden on you nor will I demand more of you than you care to give.

I will be a quiet peaceful island of serenity for you to gaze upon; a soft soothing body to caress, and I shall purr with pleasure to rest your weary ears.

Since I am a gourmet who appreciates different taste sensations, I pray you will give me a variety of nutritious foods and fresh water daily.

You know dear friend, how I love to go. Allow me, I pray, a warm sheltered place where I can rest peacefully and feel secure.

If I am wounded in battle or suffering from disease, please tend me gently, and see that loving and competent hands treat me.

Please protect me from the inhuman humans who would hurt and torture me for their own amusement. I am accustomed to your gentle touch and am neither always suspicious nor swift enough to avoid such malicious acts.

In my later years when my senses fail me and my infirmities become too great to bear, allow me the comfort and dignity that I desire for my closing days and help me gently in my pain or passing.

Hear this prayer, my dear friend, my fate depends on you.
