the cramps are sensational. Some people with real good taste on this thread. It's a shame we cant have an Aspie Punk meet-up or gathering. 8)

I actually was in a burlesque show the other day where all we used was the music of The Cramps. So stellar!

what's a burlesque show?

Seriously!? Oh man, my friend, you are missing out. It's the art of Striptease! Youtube Michelle L'Amour or Dita Von Teese or Lili St. Cyr or Jo Wheldon and you should get a general idea.

I can't believe some of this stuff in on You Tube.

Rik L Rik, RIP--seminal Cali. punk--one of my favorite punks songs from that scene, And you gotta love the slam dancing--that how I remember slam dancing!:

Adolescents, possibly the best known Orange Co punk band (Rick Agnew's first band--he later formed Christian Death with goth punker Rozz Williams, RIP) :

The Germs, with punk legend Darby Crash, RIP--if you ever want to start a fight, find a Germs fan and say something bad about Darby. Good luck walking away alive!:

Another OC band, the Crowd--another song I have loved forever:

And the Dickies' timeless Stukas Over Disneyland:

Ok, a couple more before going to bed:

New Model Army, from 1986--The Ghost of Cain was my favorite album that year. A very angry album. Played it to death. This is the first track (it's a fan video--sorry if it's hard to watch):

I don;t really consider Joy Division punk, but rather the first true post-punk band, so naturally they drew a lot from punk. And hey, they had a pretty sick band name and had everyone's favorite Nazi-obsessed, bipolar epileptic poet, Ian Curtis, RIP. Plus they were really f'ing good.

I saw the dead kennedys twice in a small club in San Francisco back in the 1980s. The shows were quite interesting, as were the audience.

Most of my original songs are more in the style of classic rock from the late 1960s to late 1970s. There are some metal, folk, and reggae influences, even a little blues and funk. About a year and a half ago I met a new bass player half my age and we jammed regularly for seven months. He has many original songs that have a raw punk edge. Even though I am no longer with that bass player, I enjoyed playing that style and it will undoubtedly crop up in my own stuff I play from now on. Even some of my older classic rock style songs are sharper now with more bite because of the aggressiveness of the punk style.

that's cool stuff dude. i used to play in a punk band, we recorded a sh*tty CD. played around a dozen shows. i got laid a couple times. i wrote the music and kept the band moving, but one day, it was all over.

i have all the tools i could ever ask for to make music (minus a drum set and the speakers to the PA), including a recording studio and the education to use it effectively, but what i want so incredibly badly is other musicians to jam with....and im an aspie with limited social skills lol

I love gang of four. The lyrics to this one i find particularly relevent to my situation. "damaged goods. send them back. I cant work, i cant achieve, send me back"

I think one of the guys from the band works in advertising now. Oh dear.
