Sorry I couldn't respond earlier but the Forum wasn't working.

You mean like talking to people and communicating? That's still a part of intelligence.

That was directed at everybody who's ever done that, most of those people on other Forums, but I was assuming you were among them because I just didn't want to debate with myself about whether or not you were doing it, because that goes nowhere, and asking you would have been pointless (You'd either lie or tell the truth), so I just put that out there just in case.

What do you mean "Making a distinction"? "Emotional Maturity" and "Maturity" seem to be more or less the same thing to me.

You know, it's weird. Sometimes I feel like a thirteen year old and other times a fourty-five year old since I can be extremely wise for my age. Thing is, I've been feeling like that more and more lately. At least since I turned eighteen.

It's so good to know that I am not the only one out there. It's like being stuck between to age worlds or something.

This whole "emotional maturity" thing seems to be pretty loaded to me..

I'm 30, and in some regards I feel much more sophisticated and mature, and in other regards I feel like I can be pretty immature and naive. When I post in this forum, I sort of make the assumption that other ASpies have this in common with me.

Ok. Not normally. Intellectual maturity, as opposed to intelligence,
is a fairly common term in academia. It is this meaning to which
I was referring, and if you're really interested, I'm sure that a simple
google search will get you a better explanation than I am capable of giving.

The distinction between intellectual and emotional.
Stop playing dense, if you are as old and wise as
your post claims.

I think all of us are immature and only some of us are mature enough to admit it. ;)

I get told that I am immature by my teenage sons. It is soooo much fun to embarass them! I've made a conscious decision not to grow up!

So why was I told about this earlier? All of this could have been avoided if you'd simply said that.

I thought you meant making a distiction between emotional maturity and maturity which was why I was confused, so you can stop being all condesending and insulting me. Anyway I don't believe I ever said I was mature or immature, so stop jumping down my throat.

Making those people mature in the process.

Gaaa! It isn't enough that we are people who don't know each other, typing away in our own little vacuums and get misunderstood, but we are (probably) Aspie to boot!
I went back and forth with PostPaleo for almost a page of threads because I missed ONE PREPOSITION he wrote about a flagpole, so I understand how thought can get lost and scrambled, deus ex machina. . .

well, now that we have THAT all figured out. . .

Well it is a "Community for those with Asperger's Syndrome", or are you implying that a lot of us are undiagnosed?
