Also if someone else is quick enough, you cannot add anything because you always hit the "someone else has made a post, so you might want to review yours" blocker

Does this mean I win the debate because the way I wanted to play on the original thread is in fact better?

Not automatically, the fact it's better doesn't mean this way was invalid on the other thread.

My point was more, the original rules were poorly defined.

The fact the game works better if you disallow consecutive posts doesn't change the rules as they're stated, does it? There needs to be a rules amendment that's tagged or somehow shown at the start of the thread so everybody knows.

Otherwise we're just operating on assumptions and quite frankly I could assume any old s**t if we're going down that route.

Have you ever played Mornington Crescent?

A good sparring of wits is certainly more entertaining than posting the same number over and over. :)

I completely agree that the rules in the original thread are lacking any clarification regarding repeat posts.

Continuing to play the way everyone has been playing keeps the game fun for everyone. As nobody's handing out trophies or prize money for forum game champions, whatever keeps it fun for everyone ought to be the assumed rule, eh?

I googled Mornington Crescent. Sounds like a pretty difficult game for someone who's never been to the UK, unless that someone had a particular interest in learning London's landmarks. I don't fit either description. Have you played? Does it have a bearing on this conversation somehow?

Oh good grief, I missed the entire point of the game by skimming the Wikipedia article too quickly. I think I could manage to play that quite well, hahaha. Delightful.
