Did you have a wedding dress

No, trouser suit lol.

Wedding dresses are overrated (ESPECIALLY strapless ones) but I still want to wear one for my wedding so I can feel like a princess or model!! !

I would have worn a dress if I was slimmer, but I knew I'd look too fat in a dress so I thought I'd go for something that done me more justice, as I am too weak-willed to give up the coke (and no, I don't like diet coke).

This thread sort of reminds me of my lesbian friends at work when one of them said they have a picture of a man on her phone and I said "ooh, is he hot?" and they said "yeah, absolutely", and when she showed me the picture it was of this hideous goblin-like creature emerging from the sewer. They really got me good.

They were only joking around lol.

Rather than drag this thread into a discussion/bashing of feminism - or more accurately in this case, what feminism is mostly not - please keep to the topic.

Understood, although I'm not sure the article as presented is coherent enough to serve as anything more than a jumping off point.

I could speculate on the underlying issues that may be a manifestation of the problems the author observes, but analysing the social structures of Western civilization in relation to sexual (dys)function may bring the discussion straight back around... I probably skipped forward a bit. Goes with the territory.

^^^ Agreed, the article is meant as a jumping off point. I point to Japan as a portent to the future generations as a society that embraced modernism/futurism, technology, urbanisation and dissolution of nuclear family > than west. Many of the visions created in sci-fi of dystopian high tech cities can be seen in Tokyo of social disconnection and hyper focus on individual needs. while cultural factors are different, the adoption of technology replacing real human interaction is happening faster in Japan. So this transition creates an social landscape where the need for marriage and traditional relationships becomes more irrelevant. One can't investigate this change without examining feminism but of course other factors must be considered.

I've come to the conclusion, ignorance is bliss as a counter argument to the author of the article.
