Anyone can feel ignored.

Ever rarer, almost never resonates.

Anyone can see parallels.
Anyone can see differences.

After 6502 posts this had probably been posited, but what would happen if someone became popular on the unpopular thread? ;-)

I’m reminded of a song by a local band “Mad Tea Party” entitled “Never Was a Cool One”. I’ve never been popular in my life, always an outsider, and only truly happy when I am by myself in the wilderness.

^ Same here. By the way, what specific parameters are intended make somebody popular or not? How we actually define "being popular"?

I don't know either if you are or if I am for that matter, but for sure I wasn't a "WP celebrity" on my first minutes here. So far I haven't feel dismissed because of being new or having low post count or anything, neither saw anyone getting ignored for that. Is this thread really relevant nowadays?

Some posts go indeed unnoticed (or we just think so) but I see it's rather because
- of it's lower signal-to-noise ratio; I mean, well-built response obviously will attract more attention than one saying "opasjkfoiewnm Headcrab Jambalaya"
- it touches some obscure topic
- it's a side note / post that makes further discussion impossible
- simply bad luck

My first instinct would be to say a wrestling competition but the primary issue with that is that online it would pose logistical difficulties.
