Scy/Fy Twilight Zone New Year's Marathon.

The Cleaner

Series 2, episode 1 - A Clean Christmas

Paul the Crime Scene Cleaner meets a young autistic man while cleaning an Ice Cream Parlor. The young man, Robert, has come to the parlor every Saturday for a Peach Melba since he was 14, when his dad abandoned him, telling him not to talk to the police and that he would return. Robert is in his twenties, and has not heard from his dad since.
Robert insist he is to get his ice cream because it is a Sunday. The fact that the owner Alberto is dead, bludgeoned to death, does not mean anything. It's Sunday and that means Peach Melba ice cream. Paul gets the ingredients from Robert, but he forgets the first ingredient. In a nutshell, it is made a certain way and Paul is not cutting and loses patience. He has a job to finish and a pub to go to and a raffle to enter.
I cannot go through the whole episode. It ends on a nice note. Paul helps Robert know his father is not returning, which it is clear he is not.

Several of these episodes concerns Paul, the Crimes Scene Cleaner, stumbling into a mess involving other people, and then inadvertently expressing some insight while also leaning something.

Britbox does not place this as episode 1 of series 2. It is the Christmas Special.

Finished watching the last four episodes last night, Monday, 7 January 2026.

Detention (2020)
started and finished the 8 episode series Sunday, 6 January 2026.

Started series 3 of The Cleaner

FWIW I have now seen all of Series One of Skins. I understand it goes downhill from there.

I've been semi-binge watching 1973 and 1975 episodes of General Hospital, the UK series that ran from 1972-79. Most of them no longer survive, but of those that do, quite a few are in continuous sequence, so you can more or less pick up the story. It's largely typical 'daytime TV' stuff, but there are one or two interesting characters, such as the bad-tempered, intolerant Senior Consultant, Mr Parker-Brown, and the ridiculous camp hospital porter, Arnold Capper, who looks to have come straight out of a sitcom.

After our detour through Red Dwarf Season 9 we chose to rely on The Addams Family [1964–1966] to provide some shorter items for our viewing pleasure. Last night we (finally!) finished Season 1.



This is the oldest version of the Addams Family that you can watch (and it is great)! For anything older you need to read the original printed cartoons.

Wonder Man.

The former Mandarin, after being recaptured by the government, is given the chance to stay out of prison by helping a sinister government agency to expose and capture an African American actor who is hiding his super powers. Said actor wants to play the superhero, Wonder Man, in an upcoming movie.
So far funny, and even tragic in this parable of abuse by ICE.
